3. Virtual Reality is an
emerging
technology that
could possibly
replace most of
the computers,
which we use
today.
INTRODUCTION
4. I have always been interested in innovations and
technology in general. I constantly try to get the
newest technology available on the market,
usually not for it’s practical value, but just out of
curiosity.
For some reason, before I started working on this
talk, I didn’t know much about Virtual Reality. I
knew how it worked and I had basic knowledge
about the technology, but I definitely didn’t fully
understand it’s potential and I had never
considered some of its amazing capabilities.
WHY VIRTUAL REALITY?
5. The more I read about
Virtual Reality, the more I
became convinced that
there are infinite number
of ways you can use it. I
also became convinced
that it can open new
doors for our creativity
and imagination.
Which is why I wanted to
share some of the recent
developments in the VR
world.
WHY VIRTUAL REALITY?
6. VR Filmmaking can
offer completely
new experiences
with the 360 degree
camera, because
you will be able to
look around and
move during the
movie scenes.
NEW WAYS OF
FILMMAKING
7. What virtual
paining offers is
revolutionary,
imagine being
able to paint in
space, where your
environment
becomes your
painting canvas.
VIRTUAL
PAINTING
8. Virtual music studio
transforms the
existing music
production programs
to look like actual
studios, meaning
people will be able to
produce music
virtually exactly like
in real life.
VIRTUAL MUSIC
STUDIO
9. Existing real life
constraints limit the
amount of professional
training available for
pilots, while also
incurring unnecessary
costs.
VR simulations not only
relieve companies of
these costs, but enable
more people to have
access to them.
TRAINING SIMULATIONS
10. There is a lot of on-going
research, especially for
medical education, to
deliver lectures with the
help of VR devices. This
newly developed system
of learning can help
make education easier,
faster and more fun, by
providing students with
visual models of how
exactly human body
reacts to different
medical conditions.
EDUCATION
11. Technological advancements in general have helped the
disabled with their conditions, in many cases it has saved
their lives. Steven Hawking, one of the greatest minds
living today, has been able to communicate his scientific
breakthroughs only because of the sophisticated
technology available.
VR isn’t going to be an exception in this regard, because it
is going to help the disabled get a glimpse of what
activities like; surfing, scuba-diving, mountain climbing etc.
feel like.
HELPING THE DISABLED
EXPERIENCE
12. Google Earth
developers have been
working on a VR
version of the
program, which
enables users to
teleport and fly in any
part of the world in a
matter of seconds.
ALSO, YOU CAN FLY
13. VR is still at the very early stages of development, so
it is definitely impossible to foresee what will be
achieved with it. But looking at current projects and
researches, it definitely seems that this technology is
going to have massive effect on the world and our
lives.
The primary goal of VR, is giving people the ability to
create new experiences, which were unavailable in
the past due to real world restrictions. At the same
time VR plans to give more people access to
professional training and education.
