This document provides step-by-step instructions for adding a hard drive to a virtual machine and formatting it. It begins by having the user start the VMware program, click the Add icon, and select to add a SCSI hard disk of 5GB in size. After the disk is added, the document guides the user through powering on the virtual machine, opening Disk Management, initializing and formatting the new disk as an MBR partition with a simple volume assigned the L: drive letter. In the end, the user has successfully added and formatted a 5GB hard drive to their virtual machine.
