Learning Ally, a national nonprofit since 1948 provides educational solutions for people with visual impairments and learning disabilities, like dyslexia. Audiobooks are a core educational solution for these individuals. Institutional or school membership now includes Teacher Ally, a new tool to simplify audiobook learning in the classroom. This before and after look is intended to help teachers understand what the new tool has to offer.
2. Before Teacher Ally ...
Teachers used one main account for the entire
school, district or program.
With Teacher Ally ...
Each teacher receives their own log-in
credentials giving them online access to
Teacher Ally’s efficient dashboard interface.
3. Before Teacher Ally ...
All teachers within the school used the same
username and password even though they
were all working with different students.
With Teacher Ally ...
Multiple teachers add each individual student
to their list of “My Students” within the school’s
account.
4. Before Teacher Ally ...
Teachers kept records on their own to manage
which students were reading which books
from that one main account.
With Teacher Ally ...
Teachers assign or add audiobooks to the
student’s personalized online “Bookshelf”
where books are organized directly into that
student’s profile.
5. Before Teacher Ally ...
Teachers maintained student records all year
to show students were certified with a visual
impairment or learning disability proving their
eligibility to use Learning Ally audiobooks.
With Teacher Ally ...
The school’s evaluator or specialist logs into
the account and quickly marks which students
are eligible or “certified” to use Learning Ally
eliminating the teachers need to track that
paperwork.
6. Before Teacher Ally ...
All audiobooks were on one “Bookshelf” in the
school’s online account, and records had to be
kept by teachers regarding which books were
for which student.
With Teacher Ally ...
Personalized student profiles show books
assigned to each student and if they are using
the Learning Ally Audio app, Teacher Ally
shows the number of pages read.
7. With Teacher Ally ...
With minimal effort, Teachers can organize
books and track progress of each student
using Learning Ally.
At a quick glance, educators and
administrators can filter by program, teacher
and student to review usage and progress,
saving them time in ensuring student success.
