6. PERSONAL LIFE
I have a pretty busy lifestyle from work to family to
friends and I love it, here are some of my main routines
and hobbies. I mainly see my family on Christmas and
thanksgiving holidays, but I also go out every summer to
visit for 2 weeks. I like to go to the gym almost every
morning to stay in shape, I also go jogging whenever I
can. I try to bike to work in the summer because its not
too far. I have three friends and we try to go traveling to
exotic places every spring break or winter break. I have
a pet Pomeranian, named Sophie and a cat, named April.
I love to read and do Yoga whenever I can. I like to go
to the spa every 3 weeks and relax with my girlfriends. I
try to be happy everyday and I love to surround myself
with beauty in and around my house here in New York
City. Now I will tell you how I got here….
7. I have been working as a self- employed interior designer for 15 years
now, after spending 4 years at UBC. I finally got my bachelor’s degree .
I finished the University Interior Designers Program, where I learned
many things I need for my career, such as drafting, general business
, lighting etc. For another 7 years I was supervised by a fully qualified
designer, named Janice Parker, who has been working as and interior
designer for 40 years. After those 7 years, I became more experienced
and learned many tips and tricks to help me with my career to come.
Finally I took my certification exam by the National Council for Interior
Designer Qualification(NCIDQ)
Later on I decided I wanted to develop my own business with fellow
interior designers. Its been running successfully for 3 years and has
been a great achievement so far and I hope it will continue being a
great business in the future to come. Climbing up the ladder of success
was tricky but my piece of advice would is to stick to it, believe in
yourself and most important of all, make sure to choose a career you
love.
