PNC as a one of the largest US bank established a full-fledged automated data quality solution which is
completely in house customized as a system. The streamlined process involves right from creating
accuracy rule based on the banking line of business domain knowledge, ranging from retail, mortgage,
credit, commercial loan, auto loans and traded assets reacting out to business subject matter expert and
diligently striving towards finding data quality issue at all simple, medium and complex level.
The process is very granular and deals with all the dimensions of the data quality such as completeness
conformity, consistency, accuracy, duplication, integrity being a service layer stapled a main project of
data the system is very close to the business understanding of any project it’s servicing.
This service is applied to any data owning project as required. The biggest project served is ‘Enterprise
Information Platform’ an enterprise level data for the bank. It is also encompasses understanding of Basell
II accord and Risk Management.
From infrastructure point of view all the metadata around the accuracy rule is stored in the informatica
tool metadata manager and all the DQ results are coupled with the same to form a final OBIEE dashboard
report to slice and dice thru data quality issue. A full fledge automated system run the DQ process
monthly as needed.

largest bank in the US, the aim of the project is to make it BASEL II & BASEL III
compliant. The project uses its enterprise information platform and data warehouse to provide data to
downstream users and to generate reports based on the clients’ data like loans, mortgages, investments,
asset values and revenues, and submits it to the audit agencies of the US. This project is the first
enterprise wide implementation in North America. The project also maintains history data in the data
warehouse related to all its business lines.

9.5, to transform and load the data coming from various source systems like data related to
commercial loans, mortgages, student loans, etc. to EDRs (Enterprise Data Repository ).

• Unit, regression and integration testing of the development completed with the use of SQL in
