Dear Hiring Manager:
As an electrical engineer with supervising experience and a strong desire to excel in this
field I am seeking to obtain a position within your company. The scope of my
experience includes employment at Honeywell Olathe and Honeywell FM&T, previous
employment for the military in the R&D department, and public speaking skills by way of
outreach to the community by educating young adults on engineering subjects.
I am a quality-focused individual who is able to set high goals and stop at nothing to
achieve them. Currently I am an ISC supervisor at Honeywell Olathe and my
responsibilities there include supervising two teams of about 30 direct reports who
manufacture avionic systems for Boeing and Airbus. One of the biggest achievements I
have accomplished at Honeywell is being awarded the Six Sigma Greenbelt
Certification. By utilizing the six sigma tools, I was able to implement a project that
ultimately led to a reduction in flow time by 82% (32 days to 5 days lead time) on one
product and a 79% (19 days to 4 days lead time) for another product. My second
biggest accomplishment was saving Honeywell Olathe $15K a year in total cost to
produce a weather radar. By utilizing process maps and time studies, I reduced the
product movement by over 2500ft/unit and reduced head count from 6 to 4
employees on the line.
As someone who is driven and has the enthusiasm and focus to produce significant
contributions, I believe I would be a great candidate for an electrical energy position at
your company. To be able to work for a firm that prides itself on technology and
innovative thinking would be a great opportunity for me.
Given my technical knowledge, hands on research experience, enthusiastic
personality, and driven attitude, I believe I have the qualifications that you are looking
for. I thrive on challenges and will spend the time and effort it takes to succeed. Thank
you for your consideration and time and I hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely,
Lauren R. Putthoff
