Humor Hangout Treatment
1. Humor Hangout Treatment
Lauren Adams
Overview
The show will consist of 3 segments that are tied together by a host. All are
meant to be funny and also like a game or a challenge. The host segments will be
filmed in the studio at the same time the third segment is filmed in the studio. The host
will just give a few comments about the segment and then throw it to the next segment
in between each one.
The first segment is “Baylee on the Street.” The segment mimics the show “Billy
on the Street” but will be on campus. The questions will also be based on facts but
asked in a way to provoke a funny response.
The second segment will be a pack called “Challenge Corner.” I want it to keep
the theme of challenges to relate to the whole show. I was thinking that each week my
crew could be in charge of it and come up with a challenge for a few students to do.
This could be done anywhere.
The third and final segment called “Try Not To” would be done in the studio. This
segment would be like the React channel on YouTube, but each week there's a new “try
not to…” challenge. For example, one week we would bring in a few different students
at different times and they would have to watch the same compilation of videos (curated
by the crew and me) and try not to laugh while watching them. The next week it could
be “try not to flinch” while a different set of students watch a compilation of scary videos.
Filming
Instead of having to film twice a week as a group and the crew filming whenever
on their own for the pack, I thought that maybe the first week we could film 2 episodes
of the “Baylee on the Street” segments on the same day and then the next week we
would film 2 episodes of the in-studio stuff. We could continue this pattern throughout
the rest of the semester and each week combine the Baylee segments with the in-studio
segments to then put out as that week’s episode. Baylee and the host could change
outfits as well to make it look like it wasn’t filmed at the same time. The crew could also
film their pack in the studio at the same time as the host segments and the Try Not To
segment to save time as well.
Crew
I would love to have Baylee as the host for everything because she is hilarious.
She would be hosting 2 things on the show but she would also help come up with
content and help film. She has already said she wouldn’t mind doing all of that as long
as this show counted as one of her shows for class.
As for the camera crew, I would like to have three people plus Baylee which
would be a total of 4.
