• Gills are 30X larger and heart is 10X larger then other fish
• Feed on cephalopods and crustaceans
• Preyed by larger billfish and toothed whales
• Spawn twice a year during a full moon in tropical waters
• Release more then 2.9 million to 6.3 million eggs each time
• Small bigeye tuna found at the surface
• Adults found in deep water
