2. A college in PA
PA is the abbreviation for Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia is a city in PA, some people call it
Philly.
When I first got there I went to Temple University
where Jayylin’s Meme´ (grandmother) works. It’s
in Philadelphia.
She took me outside where the medical school
students take a break. I sat on a BIG chair!
3. The college library
I met a few people who work in the library there. The students study
very hard and they help them get the books, laptops, and other
things they need. They have a lot more than just medical books!
4. Rocky Statue
This is a statue from a
famous movie about a
wrestler. It is in front of
an Art Museum because
he ran up the steps every
day for exercise.
I ran with Meme´s friend
to get there!
6. I went way up high in the college building to try to see the
city. They have a famous building with a statue of William
Penn on top. I think that’s why it’s called Penn-Sylvania! It’s
on their city hall.
There’s a
rule that
nothing can
block the
view of that
building!
You can see
it from miles
away as you
drive down
Broad
Street.
8. Franklin Institute
There’s a place named after
Benjamin Franklin that has all
kinds of cool stuff in it.
He was an inventor and did a lot
to help people. He lived in
Philadelphia but he was born in
Boston, MA!
I didn’t get to go to the Franklin
Institute but Jayylin’s cousin did
and had fun.
9. The Liberty Bell is in
Philadelphia, too!
I’ll let your teacher
tell you about it.
It was fun visiting.
There was so much I
didn’t get to see. I’ll
have to go back
sometime.
10. There was a
mishap. Good thing I
was already flat!
Jayylin’s
Meme´ sits on
an exercise ball
at her desk.
11. I LOVED MY VISIT TO
PHILADELPHIA, PA!
I brought back a book that can be
shared. It has more about
Philadelphia and Pennsylvania.
