Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA). It interfaces with Medicaid
Eligibility Data System (MEDS), Statewide Client Index (SCI), the existing county-based
enrollment systems (the Statewide Automated Welfare Systems – SAWS) and other related
systems are being enhanced and web enabled in order to provide seamless integration with
the new CalHEERS system.
Note: The SAWS independently interface directly with MEDS/SCI and CalHEERS
respectively, depending on where the application is in the enrollment process.
