The Nova Shell Museum in Panglao,

seashell collections. According to
scientists, the island of Panglao has the

HERITAGE
MUSEUM
This museum once served as the house of
Carlos P. Garcia, the 8th president of the
Philippines who also hails from Bohol. A
quick tour around the house will give you a
glimpse of the life of the late president.
One may quickly guess what sort of hobby
he is fun of basing on the large chess
board located in the front yard and the
number of trophies he had on that sport.

Behind the church you'll find the
Baclayon Museum, which contains a
small but significant collection of
historical religious artifacts. From

19. CALAMAY
Calamay is one of Bohol's best known
delicacies. Calamay or calamay hati, a
sticky and very sweet paste of sticky-
rice flour and coconut milk, packed in a
coconut shell, sealed with a
characteristic red tape. Making
Calamay needs constant stirring over a
low fire until the desired thickness has
been reached.
20. BIBINGKA
There are so many versions of this
Philippine treat but basically, it is
composed of rice flour, sugar, butter
and coconut milk wrapped in banana
leaves. It is served as “painit” in early in
the morning paired with hot coffee or
chocolate or an afternoon snack with
cold softdrinks.
21. MARUYA
These are among the favorites, not
just to the children but to adults as
well. Made from Saba bananas,
dipped in a sticky mixture, fried
and then rolled in sugar, it is
perfect for everyday snacks and
healthy too.
