Kids and Calcium
The Benefits of Low-Fat Dairy Products
By Kristin Howell
We need calcium to
keep our teeth and
bones healthy and
strong.
Dairy foods have lots of
calcium.
Milk
Some foods in the
dairy group are:
Cheese
Yogurt
Low fat dairy foods can be
eaten at any meal of the
day
Breakfast
Cereal and low-fat milk
Lunch
Grilled Cheese Sandwich made with low-fat
cheese
Dinner
Low-fat Macaroni and Cheese
and healthy after school snacks
Fresh fruit and low-fat yogurt
Kids should have at least 2 servings a day from the
dairy group
So remember, eating
low-fat dairy foods is
a delicious way to
keep our bodies
healthy and strong.
