The Ucare Fitness Model provides incentives to customers to exercise regularly by paying them weekly for meeting physical activity goals. Customers use an app to track their gym visits and are paid $15 per week for 300+ minutes of exercise, with $5 deducted for every 100 minutes under the goal. This incentivizes exercise and reduces healthcare costs from related diseases. A pilot with 0.2% of UnitedHealthcare's 50 million members could save $1,313 per customer annually and significantly reduce the insurer's reimbursement costs.

STUDY
• In 2016, a study conducted at the
University of Pennsylvania paid people to
go to get more physical activity
• On average, people who were paid to
do physical activity were 17% likelier to
reach the baseline of physical activity
than the control group
• Additionally, people who were given
the money initially, and had to pay
each week they did not meet physical
baselines, were 50% likelier to reach
the baseline of physical activity than
the control group

Subtract $5.00 for each increment of 100 minutes
We start by giving customers money
then taking them away if they do not
meet exercise goals
Based on idea that gym use could prevent many

unhealthy lifestyle
Pay our customers who actively use
the gym. Payments will be done on a
weekly basis for customers spending
300+ minutes in a gym
