Proposal and Treatment Brief
KFC Advert for radio
In this task we have been asked to plan and create an advertisement for radio production.
My advertisement company I have chosen KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) Kentucky Fried
Chicken, more commonly known by its initials KFC, is an American fast food restaurant chain
that specializes in fried chicken Headquartered in Kentucky it is the world's second-largest
restaurant chain (as measured by sales) after McDonalds with almost 20,000 locations
globally in 123 countries and territories as of December 2015. In the advertisement I will be
advertising a new meal deal for KFC. It will be a new
box meal for the restaurant and we want to
advertisement the new box meal. The company
would like future skills to create this advertisement
because of the target audience of the product KFC is
aimed at young age and teenagers and with a KFC
restaurant located close to the college in salford it
will be a perfect place to advertise the new box
meal.
In the advertisement I am going to basing the advert
around a certain box meal which is new at KFC, I
wanted to advertise a certain box meal because it
would be more effective than just advertising KFC in
general. The box meal is called “fill up” the style of
the advertisement will be an informal script, the advert is 30 seconds long which is short, in
the advert is going to be an informative about the new box meal at KFC. Our USP (Unique
selling point) will be that I’m not just promoting KFCs restaurant and food I am promoting
brand new box meal and will be all about the new box meal, it has a difference than just
discussing KFC in general.
The Radio advertisement will be prerecorded and produced beforehand and will not be live
on air. The Duration of the radio advertisement needs to be 30 seconds or more, after
timing the script The advertisement for KFC will be just about 26 seconds so when we
record the advert I will make sure it hits the 30 second requirement. The costs for my
advertisement would be pricey, KFC is the second richest fast food franchise in the world.
Because I will be producing a local advertisement it will only cost me £2,000 to use the
Brand name of KFC, plus £200 for the music track and £50 additional costs so our costs
would be £2,250 to produce the advertisement and for it to be successful.
