1. Ex-Stock: I was responsible for the procurement of all the Ex-Stock raw materials required for Paint
manufacturing. These are Solvents, Driers, Pigments, Pastes, Dispersing Agents, and Antifoams etc. I
was required to :
o Float inquiries and reminders to different vendors for different raw materials and await their
replies.
o Create different comparisons of the prices and availability scenarios of raw materials from
different suppliers. Was required to give feed back to the manager for immediate decision for
further ordering.
o Negotiating the prices with the suppliers and setting long term or short term purchase contracts.
o Placing the order with the different suppliers for long term or short term basis.
o Keeping an eye on the committed deliveries details by the suppliers and asking for the arrival
dates.
2. Coordination: Coordination is the key factor for all of the procurement related activities. Keeping a
close contact with the Production, and Stores Department gives the exact details of what may be the

company’s future requirement in terms of raw materials and other indirect supplies. I regularly hold
meetings with these departments for the current and future exact requirement of production & sales.
This gives a complete overview of the market situation and also gives the requirement of our customers.
Having obtained the future end product projection I convert it into raw material requirement and arrange
the materials according to the lead times involved.
3. Inventory Control: I have been assigned different targets of controlling the inventory of raw
materials with my stock level alerts report.
o Developing the MS Excel based reorder sheets of each raw material, which depicts the
consumption trend and future consumption projection trends & Required Budget Also.
o The placement of orders according to the requirement of material with respect to Consumption
Projection Trends and lead time calculations.
o Constantly monitoring the reorder levels of all the raw materials.
o Keeping a bird’s eye view on the consumption trend and the forecasted consumption of the
month.
o Keeping close coordination with production department for any projection change, or intimating
them for any variation in consumption trend as compared to projection.
o Changing the deliveries schedule in case of any variation in consumption trend as compared to
the projected quantity.
o Arranging the meetings with sales, production for any variation in the future consumption trend
4. Future Allocation: I regularly coordinate with my suppliers and allocate different raw materials. The
allocations help me in going for a contractual order or a long term deal resulting in a continuous supply
of a certain material on my given time. The quantities are allocated in accordance with the future
consumption projections of the raw materials. These allocations are changed and intimated to the
suppliers in case of change from the production department.
