The small town is famous for its numerous festivals and exciting activities throughout the year. The annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is the world’s largest quilt show held every second Saturday of July each year. The 2020 edition will take place on 11th July 2020 at Downtown Sisters. The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is a non-profit organization whose aim is to educate and inspire the public about the art of quilting to benefit schools, community groups, and entire Central Oregon. The show started after the founder, Jean Wells Keenan displayed a dozen quilts made by her students outside her quilt shop on a Saturday in July. Later, more ladies bought their quilts to the show and it eventually becomes an annual event hosted by the East of the Cascades quilt guild.
