2. Complete British Water Training Modules
BW- Module 1
A Two day programme run in a classroom environment .
candidates must attain a minimum of 80% to pass. Once the
BW!, he/she will be issued a pass certificate for the BW1 course
BW - Module 2
The module will be completed at your place of work by a
candidate, need to show competence carrying out maintenance
areas:
- Biological filtration plants
- Rotating biological contactors
- Activated sludge plants
- SAF/BAFF plants.
- Pumping Stations
3. Present the following pre-requisites
Electrical Safety
- NICEIC, ELECSA & ECA Training Accessory Replacement
equivalent
Working in Confined Spaces
- City & Guilds 6150-02 Level 2 Award in Working in Medium
(Entrant): Water
OR
CABWI CS-02 Level 2 Award in Working in Medium Risk
Health & Safety
- JIB PMES (CSCS affiliated)
OR
- Energy & Utility Skills, Safety Health and Environmental
4. Once all Modules and pre-requisites have been
approved you are now a certified British Water
Wastewater Treatment Plant Accredited Technician

BW1 - £605
BW2 Onsite Assessment - £495
Pre-requisites courses provided by Develop
training:
Medium Risk Confined Spaces - £415
EUSR Water SHEA - £159
If 4 courses are booked with Develop Training
then they will offer a discount and all will cost
£1,495+VAT.
Note: prices does NOT include the British
Water certification fee
7. FAQ
- Starting date: 15th May
- Grace period: From the date that technicians pass
the course, they will have up to 12 months to
present the documentation needed and undertake an
onsite assessment to get the technicians accreditation
- Renewals: The full qualification is to last three years;
candidates wishing to re-qualify should complete the
BW2 (onsite assessment) again. If BW1’s course content
changes, candidates wishing to requalify would have to
refresher/update course for BW1.
