Inspection of Pallet Racking
Employers should carry out inspections following any report
of damage and on a regular basis. Manufacturers, suppliers or
suitably qualified consultants should be contacted to provide
advice on inspection frequency and if any additional points
relevant to the racking, should be included in the inspection.
Regulations/Legal Responsibilities
Employers have duties under the Occupation Health and
Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act) to provide and maintain plant and
systems of work that are so far as reasonably practicable safe
and without risk to health. Adopting the advice provided in
this Guidance Note will assist employers to comply with their
obligations under the OHS Act and the Occupational Health and
Safety Regulations 2007 (part 3.5 – Plant).
