2. Kalamata is the second most populous city of
the Peloponnese peninsula, after Patras, in
southern Greece and the largest city of the homonymous
administrative region. The capital and chief port of
the Messenia regional unit, it lies along the Nedon River at
the head of the Messenian Gulf.
A considerable number of sights, including the
“Main Square”, the “Panellinium”- which is located near the
port of Kalamata- and the 23d March Square are some of
the countless destinations that are worthed visiting.
Kalamata is an excellent destination for every food
lover, since olives, wine and raisins are some of the
delicious options that locals love.

3. The Main Square
The ‘Main Square” or else the
“Square of The King George” is
the central rectangular square of
Kalamata and one of the most
bustling sights of the city. Its
name has changed twelve times in
total, depending on the political
situation. It is the most crowded
sight of Kalamata and is usually
full of minors on Fridays. There is
a considerable number of cafés,
fast food restaurants to satisfy
your hunger and any shorts of
stores including fashion and
technology shops.
4. 23d March Square
The 23d March Square in the old city of Kalamata was
named after the date of the town’s liberation from the
Ottomans. The church of the Holy Apostles, where the
Rebellion was declared, is also located there. The square is
full of life, since there are cozy bars, impressive nightclubs
and lots of cafeterias which make it an ideal place for
midnight entertainment.
5. Panellinium
The Panellinium is located near the harbor of Kalamata. It
is usually preferred at summertime; it combines bath and
relaxing with amusement. Similarly with the previous
destinations, it is full of cafeterias, while the top hotels of the
city, like Elite City Resort, Pharee Palace and Filoxenia are
hosted nearby.
6. Our School
Well, we attend the 4th General High School of Kalamata, it is
a spacious two-story building located near the main square
with a considerable amount of facilities, including a basketball
court( unfortunately outdoor), and is a friendly environment
for the students. The inside of the structure is decorated with
many artifacts created by the pupils and there are café tables
on both floors. Last but not least, it hosts a small library on
the second level.
