12. CCE refers to a system of school based evaluation of students
that covers all aspects of student personality. It is a curricular
initiative, attempting to shift emphasis from mere testing to
Holistic Learning.
‘Continuous’ means that the evaluation should be scattered
through out the course such as weekly, monthly, quarterly or
unit end test, chapter-end test etc, in the form of internal
assessment or evaluation. This puts teachers and students
focused on teaching and learning, and therefore gives best
result. ‘Comprehensive’ mean the scheme attempts to cover
both the scholastic and the co-scholastic aspects of students’
growth and development.
13. OBJECTIVES OF CCE:
To help develop skills (Cognitive, Psychomotor & affective)
To lay emphasis of thought process & de-emphasize
memorization
To make evaluation an integral part of teaching learning
process
To use evaluation for improvement of students’ achievements
To guide teaching learning strategy on the basis of regular
diagnosis followed by remedial instructions
To make the process of teaching & learning a ‘Learner
Centred Activity’
14. ADVANTAGES OF CCE
De-emphasis of memorization
Teacher evaluate students in day to day basis and use
the feedback for improvement in teaching learning
process.
Encouragement of comprehensive evaluation covering
scholastic and co-scholastic aspects
Teacher can use verities of evaluation methods
The feedback by CCE can be effectively used in remedial
teaching to slow learners
Students will become more regular and punctual
15. DISADVANTAGE OF CCE
• Time consuming
• Heavy work load of teachers
• Favouritism
• Knowledge hamper
• Force to learning.
16. CONCLUSION
• 47% of survey respondents believe that the quality of
education is improving by comparison with the 1980s
So from this survey we can easily draw a conclusion that
