1. Bodies Camp Wiki
Where everyBODIES Welcome!
We have such an outstanding camp planned for your students. We invite you to
experience the building blocks of DNA, predict your traits, see what happens if
there is a mistake and since it is camp…look into the wonderful world of
parasites!
We have an amazing crew of camp counselors and fabulous fun focused on
learning, growth and appreciation for science!
Now for the Nitty Gritty Details:
We have many tents for students and teachers to enjoy.

2. MUTATIONS are EVERYWHERE TENT
What is a Mut@tion? A gene mutation is a change in the
nucleotide sequence of DNA. It alters the gene product
that in turns alters the protein produced. Lets look at what
we can do when we “unzip” the entrance and enter the
mutations tent:

3. Summer Camp Bodies
DNA Tent
Welcome to the DNA Tent. DNA is literally the “ladder" of life. The functional instructions for every cell comes from
DNA. How do our cells know what to do with these instructions? How does this microscopic, complex entity work?
Below is a summary of the DNA tent which is designed to expose campers to this life force structure in detail.
Students earn badges as they learn and teachers have a dedicated resource page that supports the curriculum.
More information is available by visiting the Summer Camp Bodies wiki website.

4. Parasite Tent- Campers
Welcome
“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to
everything else in the universe” – John Muir
The Parasites Tent is a place to find out exactly what a parasite
is and how prevalent they are in the world.
When you enter this tent you will find videos, worksheets,
research documents, vivid photos, and a numbers game- all of
which are intended to be utilized by teachers and students
alike.
There are links to some great websites to research parasites
and also a badge students can earn just for participating:
