- 2. Working Title My short film is set in the Thriller genre. The working title for my short film is ‘Isolated’
- 3. Plot 1 The story Is about a man in his early thirties who grew up in an unstable environment, with abusive parents. He was constantly moved from care home to care home when her was younger. This caused him to have severe depression 2 He lives in a run down council estate where there is a high crime rate. The story is told through his point of view, and the audience would get to see both sides to his true personality. 3 The audience sees him also struggling with his demons as the depression causes him to be forced into a darker situation.
- 4. Main characters The story ‘Isolated’ only has one main character who’s point of view we see the story from. ‘Isolated’ However, his parents do feature as well in his memories. The character is called Thomas who is in his early thirties and he lives in a small council estate situated on the outside of a small town with a high crime rate. Thomas is the main protagonist of the story, he is lonely and society sees him as an outcast because of his mental health problem.
- 5. Audience Demographics Age: 15 + Where they live: Council estates to relate to the character more, Also, middle class areas may be interested in the storyline Job: Any job Raise awareness for mental health issues.
- 6. Audience Psychographics Favorite Films/ Genre: Thriller or Action films Income: Average income What clothes they would wear: Tracksuits, Very casual wear. What they would eat for breakfast: Cereal and Orange juice. What they would eat for dinner: Fast food
- 7. Who would direct my film? Ken loach would direct my film as he has produced successful films such as; ‘I Daniel Black’ which is a Socialist Drama and ‘Route Irish’ which is a Thriller.
- 8. Problems I may encounter Location: May not be able to film in the exact location that I have in mind when planning my short film. As I am planning to film it on a council estate, I may have to do the external shots on a council estate but film the internal shots elsewhere.

- My working title for my Short Film is ’’ I found the story ‘Salience’ in the Thriller section on the Website Good Reads. After reading the story through I liked the storyline and would like to use It for my short film. The story is written by Scott Gunion and it has two chapters to it .
- The story is about a man in his early thirties who grew up in an unstable environment, his parents were abusive physically and emotionally towards him, which had a negative effect on him. At 13 he was taken away from his parents and was constantly moved from care home to care home. This unstable childhood caused him to have severe depression. He lives in a run down council estate where there is a high crime rate. The story is told through his point of view, and the audience would get to see his true personality. The audience also sees him battling with his demons as his depression forces him into a darker situation that is difficult to get out of.

- The audience of my short film would be aged 15 or over. They would live in council estates as it would relate to Jacobs situation more and they would connect with him. The Audience could live in middle class areas, as they could be interested in the storyline and the issues being raised in the film. The audience would be mostly male, even though there would be some females in the audience who can relate to the characters situation. The audience could have any job. The story could raise awareness for people with mental health issues.
- The audiences favorite films would be Thriller or Action films. Also, the audience would have either and average income which would relate to Thomas’ situation more. Furthermore, they would wear Tracksuits or very casual wear which is what the character Thomas would wear. For Breakfast they would just have simple cereal and orange juice and for dinner they would eat mainly fast food.
- Ken Loach would direct my film as he has produced many successful films such as ‘I Daniel Blake’ which is a Socialist Drama, which is similar to the Socialist Thriller I want to do. Ken Loach has also directed ’Route Irish’ which is of the Thriller Genre.
- The problems I may encounter is filming in the location I want. I may not be able to film in the exact location that I have in mind when planning my short film. As I am planning to film it on a council estate, I may have to do the external shots on a council estate but film the internal shots elsewhere.
