3. WE ARE OCONOMOWOC
In spring 2014, the OASD Building Leadership team and district
administration worked together to craft a new strategic plan. The
strategic plan was developed as a “road map” for the work of
continuous improvement and increasing student achievement in the
years ahead. Using a comprehensive and inclusive process, the team
established a new mission, vision, commitments to staff, parents and
students, as well as five key strategic directions. The school board
adopted the new strategic plan in June 2014.
Through this work, the need for rebranding was identified. The
existing logo was evaluated and updated to create a logo and tagline
consistent with the mission, vision and commitments. The tagline -
Empowering a Community of Leaders and Leaders - expresses the
Oconomowoc tradition of schools and community working hand in
hand to educate our children.
The star represents school pride, community wide, with the yellow
swoosh reaching upward to convey energy and progress towards
achieving excellence for all Oconomowoc students.

5. The Building Leadership Team and district administration worked to update
the OASD “star” logo to better reflect the intent and energy of the district’s
Strategic Plan. The classic star icon was modernized with rounded points,
a gold swoosh, and fresh typefaces. The district logo can be used with or
without the new mission statement as part of the mark. Three versions were
created to provide flexibility of use in a variety of print and online applications:
horizontal, vertical, and square.
