July 23 is National Hot Dog Day! The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) created the day in 1991 to honor this all-American dish. According to the NHDSC, the proper way to eat a hot dog is to finish it in five bites. Also, NEVER put hot dog toppings between the hot dog and the bun; "dress the dog”, not the bun.
