We have been featured on local news four times, recently an NFL development partner - USA Football as well
as Access Athletes have written articles about our successful efforts to improve youth grades, prevent youth
from participating in gangs and/or drug use and reestablishing “Old School Values” in the lives of our youth.
We were asked to present at the University of Norte Dame on the topic “Changing Lives Through Sports” and
in 2012 we were selected to the NFL Youth Football Summit to Represent Southern California

Community Challenges
• Gangs: Our program is located in an area that is home territory to a street gang and is surrounded by 3
other rival gangs.
• Crime: Our program location is in the two LAPD divisions that has the highest incident rate of crime
within the body of LAPD.
• Community: In a recent article our neighborhood South Los Angeles was named Los Angeles' most
dangerous neighborhood.
• Social Demographics: 53% of the resident’s posses a high school education or lower. 38.6% of
children within the area are being raised by someone other than their parents.
• Economic Demographics: 38% if families live below the poverty line.
• Health and Wellness: South Los Angeles has one of the highest rates for juvenile obesity in the State
of California with over 30% of the youth 16 and under is consider obese.
