2. LUZON
Built in 1593, is a citadel built by Spanish navigator and governor Miguel López de
Legazpi for the new established city of Manila in the Philippines. The defense
fortress is located in Intramuros, the walled city of Manila. The fort is one of the
most important historical sites in Manila. Several lives were lost in its prisons
during the Spanish Empire and World War II. José Rizal, one of the Philippine
national heroes, was imprisoned here before his execution in 1896. The Rizal
Shrine museum displays memorabilia of the hero in their collection and the fort
features, embedded onto the ground in bronze, his footsteps representing his final
walk from his cell to the location of the actual execution.
FORT SANTIAGO
3. Also known as Luneta Park or simply Luneta,The site on where the
park is situated was originally known as Bagumbayan during the
Spanish Colonial PeriodThe execution of Filipino patriot José Rizal
on December 30, 1896 fanned the flames of the 1896 Philippine
Revolution against the Kingdom of Spain. The park was officially
named in his honor, and the monument enshrining his remains
serves as the park's symbolic focal point.

4. Is an island located at the entrance of Manila Bay in southwestern part of
Luzon Island in the Philippines. Due to this location, Corregidor has
historically been fortified with coastal artillery to defend the entrance of
Manila Bay and Manila from attacks by enemy warships. Located 48
kilometres (30 mi) inland, Manila has been the largest city and the most
important seaport in the Philippines for centuries, from the colonial rule
of Spain, Japan and the United States, to the establishment of the
Philippines in 1946.

5. The Magellan Shrine is a large memorial tower erected in 1866 in honor
of the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan on the Mactan Island of
Cebu, the Philippines. The spot is believed to be the site where Magellan
was killed in the 1521 Battle of Mactan.

6. La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church (also The
Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary Parish Church), commonly
known as Baclayon Church, is a Roman Catholic Church in the
municipality of Baclayon, Bohol, Philippines within the jurisdiction of the
Roman Catholic Diocese of Tagbilaran. Baclayon was founded by the
Jesuit priest Juan de Torres and Gabriel Sánchez in 1596, and became the
oldest Christian settlement in Bohol. It was elevated as a parish in 1717
and the present coral stone church was completed in 1737. The
Augustinian Recollects succeeded the Jesuits in 1768 and heavily
renovated the church since then.
BACLAYON CHURCH
7. The Ruins (Talisay) was the ancestral mansion of the family of wealthy
sugar baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson built on a 440 hectare sugar
plantation in Talisay, City Negros Occidental in the early 1900s in memory
of his Portuguese wife Maria Braga Lacson, who died during the birth of
their eleventh child. During World War 2, Filipino guerillas burned it
down as a countermeasure to prevent the invading Japanese forces from
using it as a military office. It burned for 3 straight days.

8. The Real Fuerza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragoza (Royal Fort of
Our Lady of the Pillar of Saragossa), also Fort Pilar, is a 17th-century
military defense fortress built by the Spanish colonial government in
Zamboanga City, Philippines. The fort, which is now a regional museum
of the National Museum of the Philippines, is a major landmark of the
city and symbol of its cultural heritage. Outside the eastern wall is a
Marian shrine dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar, the patroness of the
city.

MINDANAO
9. Fuerte dela Concepcion y del Triunfo also known as Fort of Misamis is a
citadel first built by Spanish Jesuit priest and commander, Jose Ducos, for
the town of Misamis in Mindanao island, now the modern city of Ozamiz,
Philippines. Construction of the structure completed in 1756.[2] It is
made out of coral stone and has four bastions (baluarte) namely San
Fernando, San Jose, Santiago and San Ignacio. The fort was built to serve
as a Spanish outpost in the area as a form of protection against
marauding pirates.

10. Sunken Cemetery of Catarman - an ancient cemetery which sank
beneath the sea due to a volcanic eruption. The archaeological site has
been declared as a National Cultural Treasure of the Philippines.
