KTN hosted this event on behalf of Innovate UK and was delivered by Jane Watkins, KTN, Dieter Brigitta, Project Officer, Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking, and Roham Kemp, BEIS. The morning highlighted information about the 2020 support from the BBI Joint Undertaking and the afternoon was highly participative in support of consortia building and proposal development. CPI is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult Centre in the UK. We typically
operate between TRL 3 and TRL 7. CPI has a range of capabilities and expertise in
biotechnology, biotherapeutics, formulation, photonics and electronics serving
enterprises in diverse markets including agritech, food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical,

What is your business?
CPI has biotechnology expertise in; strain characterisation and validation, process
development, pilot and demonstration scale production, C1 gas-based fermentation,
biotransformation, downstream processing, process scale-down, process design and
modelling. Our facilities range from process development at lab scale (1mL) to
demonstration facility (10 000L), via pilot facility up to 10L in the lab and from 10 to 750
L on plant.
