2. Meaning:
Cesarean section or C - section is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby
through incision at the mother's abdomen and uterus. The Procedure includes:
1) Anesthesia and disinfection.
2) Incision at the abdomen wall.
3) Incision of the uterus.
4) Deliver of the baby.
5) Deliver of the placenta.
6) Stitching of uterus.
7) Stitching of Abdomen.
Reason for Choosing the Problem:
The C-Section Delivery Rate in India is 9.2%. Tamilnadu occupies nearly 23.2%
on the proportion of women who have undergone C-Section. Most of the Mothers
after C-Section facing problems like Nausea, Headache, Infections in Wound,
Total Spinal and Back – ache, Pain in abdomen, Bleeding, Adhesions (paining of
internal organs), Breathing problems in infants, Immature lungs in infants.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
4. Scope of the Study:
The present study will be helpful in understanding the factors
influencing people to choose caesarean section.
The study will also be helpful in analyzing the problems faced by
the respondents after caesarean section
It will also help in suggesting suitable measures to overcome the
complications of caesarean section.
Limitations of the Study:
Many Respondents neglected to respond to the survey in their
Busy Schedule.
Many Respondents found it difficult to Rank the Problems faced
by them, because they are equally facing all the problems.
SCOPE & LIMITATIONS
5. 1)To elicit the awareness of respondents with regard to the health issues
associated with C-Section.
FINDINGS
63% of the respondents have awareness about the complications of Post
C-Section & 37% of the respondents have no awareness about the
complications of C-Section.
71.% of the respondents have awareness about the Anesthesia & 29% of
the respondents have no awareness about the Anesthesia.
94% of the respondents have awareness about the Importance of Vaginal
Birth & 6% of the respondents have no awareness about the Importance
of Vaginal Birth.
SUGGESTIONS
People should know the Complications of C-Section during the 1st
Trimester Period itself to overcome this situation.
While Pregnant, Mothers should aware of the different modes of
delivery & analyze the pros & cons of each mode to decide upon and
attempt for a particular mode.

OBJECTIVES, FINDINGS & SUGGESTIONS
6. 2) To identify the factors influencing the respondents to opt for C-
Section
FINDINGS
Breech Presentation - 1st Highly Influencing
Amniotic Fluid Deficiency - 2nd Highly Influencing
Baby’s Over Weight - 3rd Highly Influencing
SUGGESTIONS
Pregnant mothers may be given training on core-strengthening
exercises to avoid the complications.
Proper exercise and yoga should be followed during pregnancy.
Proper Diet can be followed.

OBJECTIVES, FINDINGS & SUGGESTIONS
7. 3)To analyze the Problems faced by the Respondents due to C-Section
& Anesthesia
FINDINGS
Nausea - Rank I
Headache - Rank II
Affecting Future Pregnancies- Rank III
SUGGESTIONS
To overcome Nausea Spinal Anesthesia may be avoided and Regional
Anesthesia may be provided at the time of Caesarean.
To overcome Headache Post-Caesarean Mothers shall avoid over
work load and should get proper sleeping and relaxation from time to
time in day-to-day activities.
Awareness shall be created among the pregnant women mandatorily
on all the hospitals regarding the pros and cons of caesarean section

OBJECTIVES, FINDINGS & SUGGESTIONS
8. Regional Anesthesia is safe for C-Section provided that the anesthetist is
aware of the complications associated with the various techniques and
carefully monitors the patients and manage complications timely and
appropriately.
Pregnant ladies may attend classes
like SRISTI.
Pregnant Ladies can do all the
Household works like Washing
Clothes, Sweeping, Cleaning, etc.
Healthy Diet can be followed.
Mediation shall be done to avoid the
stress during Pregnancy.
CONCLUSION
