This document discusses ground support systems for underground mining, including support profiles, rock bolt straps, and accessories. It describes the main advantages of support profiles like TH, HEB, and UNP profiles which are used as passive ground control elements. Rock bolt straps and mats are used in combination with rock bolts to secure excavated surfaces, with straps preferred in hard rock and mats in soft rock. The document provides specifications for the different support profile types and rock bolt straps.

TH Profiles, HEB Profiles, and UNP
Profiles are successfully used as passive
ground control elements in underground
construction.
Although the importance of conventional
steel support has recently decreased,
it is still successfully used in deep-level
underground coal mining as well as
for special supporting constructions in
Tunneling and cavern construction.
Rock bolt straps and mats are used in
combination with rock bolts for securing
the excavation surface. In hard rock
Mining, rock bolt straps are preferably
used, whereas soft rock and coal Mining
prefer flexible rock bolt mats or mesh.
