- Revelation is God’s personal loving
communication to us of who He is and His plan
to save us all in His love.
- Creation is the foundation of “all God’s saving
plans” the beginning of the history of salvation
that culminates in Christ.
- God is the source of everything that exist
- God created us to share in His love.

God’s creative action:
• God creates by wisdom and love
• God creates out of nothing
• God creates an ordered and good world
• God transcends creation and is present
to it
• God upholds and sustains creation
14. The Doctrine of the Trinity is one of the
simplest and basic knowledge. Yet, it is also
one of the most complicated and hardest object
of knowledge to be explained – even if we used
our faith and reason. Many thinkers, Fathers of
the Church and even theologians tried to
explain in fully this object of knowledge.
15. But, all of them failed to exhaust the richness of
this knowledge. Rather, many of them
misinterpreted the reality of the Trinity. In order
to us not fall into the same track of
misinterpretation, we must accept that the
capacity of our human mind is not enough and
will never be enough to contain the Mystery of
the Trinity.
16. On the other hand, we must not stop looking for
the knowledges that we can extract in God’s
revelations. For the reason that these revelations
of God leads to who God really is. And, even if we
cannot fully understand the reality of Trinity, at
least we can have bits of knowledge about Trinity
by the help of God’s revelations as our stepping
stone to knowing the Trinity.
17. Monotheism – having one God
The Scripture (especially the Old
Testament)
Liturgical Calendar (For the
Catholics)
Some Liturgical activities

concept of the Trinity
in the Old Testament?

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.1
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..
John 15:26 But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the
Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he

tells us that all or everything
is God
22. Relation Inside the Trinity

The 2 Climax of Salvation History
Christological event
Out pouring of the Holy Spirit
25.
26. God the Father
In the Old Testament, people
cannot often called/ addressed
God as Father because they
preserve the reverence of God
and the transcendentality of God.
27. God the Father
They call Him “Father” because
they (Israelites) are the chosen
people of God.
Jesus called God “Father” because
He is the Son of God, and it
separates/ distinguishes Jesus to
the Father.
28. Jesus the Christ
God is being called Father because
He has a Son. No one is being called
a Father without a Son or adopted
son.
The only beloved Son of God
29. Jesus the Christ
The Word “Lord” pertains only to the
most powerful and almighty. So in the
early times, Christians only addressed
God as the Lord.
Jesus Christ is not only an instrument of
salvation but he is our salvation. The work
of salvation is the work of God. Therefore
Jesus Christ is God but not Yahweh.
30. 30
Jesus as the Goal, Content and
Agent of Revelation
Goal the key, center and purpose of
man’s history
Content the revealed one
Agent the mediator

your understanding of the Holy Trinity?
2. St. Thomas Aquinas’ teaching on
The Trinity asserts that "God is Father,
God is Son, and God is Holy Spirit," and that

teachings by giving personal experience in
your relationship with them.
