2. Last Week - Holy Spirit’s Divine Attributes
○ Omniscient - all knowing
○ Omnipotent - all powerful
○ Omnipresent - everywhere at once
○ Eternal - without beginning and end
○ Holy - pure and unblemissiond, without sin
Big Idea: As Christ is the perfect example of holiness,
without the Holy Spirit, we could not overcome sin
and be transformed into His likeness.
4. Today
Holy Spirit’s Divine Association with the Father and the
Son
1. What does the divine association look like?
2. What does the Scripture say?
3. What can you do about it?
Big Idea: To harness the power of the Holy Spirit, think IoT.
5. What does association look like?
1. God manifested in 3 roles:
a. Father
b. Son
c. Holy Spirit
d. Example of Roles
2. How is the Trinity considered?
a. 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 or 1 X 1 X 1 = 1
b. Why and How?
i. Tri-unity
ii. Support
iii. Amplify
6. What does Scripture Say?
Matthew 28:19
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
John 16:13-14
- 13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all
the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He
hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14
He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
7. What do Scriptures say?
Why do we say God in 3 persons? This is not in the Bible. Neither is
the word Trinity. What gives?
GOD - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is:
➢ Not three Gods - Tritheism
➢ Not 3 forms: water, steam, ice - Modalism
➢ Not equal parts of one God - Father is ⅓ God, the Son is ⅓
God and the Holy Spirit is ⅓ God
Back to God’s attributes - omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent,
eternal and Holy
8. Harness the power of the Holy
Spirit
➢ We have access to GOD through Jesus Christ
➢ GOD directs us through the Holy Spirit.
➢ Because we are connected to the Father, the Holy Spirit guides us,
directs us, connects us, indwells us
➢ We are connected to GOD and to each other via the Holy
Spirit
▪ Elizabeth and Mary - Luke 1:39-56
▪ Have you ever felt that someone is a follower?
▪ Examples - Paul Austin, Richard Goodwill
9. What do we do with this?
Holy Spirit is God that dwells within you - the power is
within. How do you harness spitual power?
1. Acknowledge the Holy Spirit
2. Address Him. Seek Him.
3. Communicate with Him. Get to know Him.
4. Tap into His power that lives within you
5. The more you acknowledge Him, the more you hear,
the more you “feel” Him, the more you know Him
6. The more you know Him, the more connected you
are to Him and to others who know Him.
7. The power of the connected Spirit (IoT).
10. Small Group Questions
1. Is the Trinity like: 1+1+1=3 or 1x1x1=1? Why and How?
2. As the Trinity is manifested in 3 roles (persons), can you
have a distinct relationship with each one?
3. How does acknowledging and knowing the Holy Spirit
change the way you relate, submit, interact and ultimately
glorify GOD?
