Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'He is Allah [Who is] One. Allah, the Eternal
Refuge. He neither begets nor is He begotten,
nor is there anyone equivalent to Him.'" [Qur'an 112:1-4]
1. A: Allah The One And Only God
Allah: The One and Only God of all -
Allah is the One who created us.
He's the King of all 'kings'; obey His Call.
To worship none but Allah 'tis a must.
We know Allah through everything He made.
We recognize Allah through His great signs:
The universe, skies, sun, moon, night and day,
Animals, people, movement, food and time.
Allah owns everything and everyone.
Allah made us to worship none but Him.
Our main goal in life is not games nor fun.
We're Allah's servants, made to be Muslims.
There's no true god except Allah Alone.
Worship Him only, so Heaven's your Home.
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "Allah - There is no god except for Him, the Ever-Living
One, the Sustainer of all existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To
Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that
can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them
and what will be after them, and they do not encompass anything of His knowledge
except for what He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and
their preservation tires Him not. And He Allah is the Most High, the Most Great."
[Qur'an 2:255]
2. B: Bismillah In The Name Of Allah
'Bismillah' - An amazing phrase to say.
'In the Name of Allah' before blest acts.
'Bismillah' - Sincerely each night and day.
True Muslims remember Allah a lot.
Say 'Bismillah' before you eat and drink,
Say 'Bismillah' before you go to bed,
Before entering a room or leaving.
Say 'Bismillah' so your deeds will be blessed.
In the Name of Allah the Almighty,
We start most of our deeds with 'Bismillah':
'Bismillah' to receive Allah's Mercy,
To be close to Him and RasulAllah (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam).
'Bismillah' - Great words said by Allah's friends,
Who long to be near Allah in Heaven.
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "O' mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is
there any creator besides Allah who provides for you from the heavens and earth?
There is no god worthy of worship except Him, so how then are you deluded?"
[Qur'an 35:3]
3. C: Allah The Creator [Al-Khaliq]
Allah Al-Khaliq created everything.
Allah made the universe and each atom.
Allah Al-Khaliq made us to worship Him.
He created all with mercy and wisdom.
Allah Al-Khaliq can create what He Wills.
So you know Him, He made all things in nature.
For Him to create, He says 'Be' and it is.
Allah is Al-Khaliq, the True Creator.
Allah fashioned His servants in many forms.
Allah is the Designer; with art He makes.
He made all things we know and those not yet known.
So perfectly Allah Al-Khaliq creates.
Allah is Al-Khaliq. He made everything.
No one is worthy of worship except Him.
~Mariam Mababaya

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet Muhammad
SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam used to supplicate to Allah at the time of distress
saying, “Laa ilaaha illaallaahu Al-'Atheem Al-Haleem, Laa ilaaaha illaallaahu
Rabbul 'arshul 'Atheem, Laa ilaaha illaallaahu Rabbus-samaawaati wa Rabbul-ardhi
wa Rabbul 'arshul Kareem.” (Meaning: None has the right to be worshipped but
Allah, the Majestic, the Most Forbearing. None has the right to be worshipped but
Allah, the Rabb of the Tremendous Throne. None has the right to be worshipped
but Allah, the Rabb of the heavens and the Rabb of the earth, and
the Rabb of the Honorable Throne.) [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 2079]
4. D: Dear Allah
Dear Allah, 'tis the month of Muharram,
Please forgive me. Please pardon all my sins.
Dear Allah, please erase all sins I've done,
Through good deeds I do and my believing.
Dear Allah, please reunite me with them -
My dear parents who died in the same year.
Please forgive them and join us in Heaven,
By Your Mercy - Through our du'as and tears.
The oppressed' prayers are answered - please show -
All will be rewarded on Judgment Day.
Dear Allah, Your Mercy on us bestow,
Guide us in each moment and what we say.
Dear Allah, while smiling let us see You,
And make our dream of meeting You come true. (Ameen.)

Allah the Almighty said: "He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the
Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the
Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever
they associate with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner, to
Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth exalts Him. And
He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." [Qur'an 59:23-24]
5. E: Allah the Exalted (Al-'Aleyy Al-'Atheem)
There's excellence in Allah's creation.
All things He designed in due proportion.
See the sun, moon, stars, blue seas and oceans,
The wind, mighty mountains, green plantations,
Diversity in people's looks and speech,
The signs Allah showed them so they believe,
Their various skills and personalities,
And in how we're all equal yet unique.
There's excellence in all that Allah made -
Excellence in nature He did create,
As in the rotation of night and day,
And in His Angels who list what we say.
Allah is the Perfect, the Exalted.
There's wisdom in all that He created.
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "He (Allah) is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and
the Intimate, and He is of all things All-Knowing. It is He who created the heavens
and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows
what goes into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the
heavens and what ascends therein, and He is with you wherever you are. And Allah
of what you do is All-Seeing." [Qur'an 57:3-4]
6. F: Allah is the First (Al-Awwal)
Allah is the First and Only True God.
Before Allah there is no deity.
So-called 'gods' besides Him are false and fraud.
Allah is the First, the One God Only.
Allah is the Only God, Al-Awwal.
He is Al-Aakhir, no god after Him.
Our God Allah is the Most Merciful,
King of all 'kings', Master of everything.
Before any deed, think first of Allah.
Ask yourself, 'For this will Allah love me?
Will this act be loved by RasulAllah (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam)?
Or will it cause Allah to be displeased?'
Before all things, remember Al-Awwal,
Allah - The First, the Only God of all.
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "And seek forgiveness from Allah. Verily, Allah is Ever
Forgiving and Merciful." [Qur'an 4:106]
7. G: Allah is the Most Forgiving (Al-Ghafoor)
Allah is Al-Ghafoor, the Forgiving -
The Most Forgiving of those who forgive.
Dear Allah Al-Ghafoor, forgive my sins.
That You Allah can pardon I believe.
Dear Allah Al-Ghafoor, forgive me please.
Forgive all wrongs I did - I did not know.
Forgive my misdeeds done ignorantly -
Your Mercy extends beyond Your Great Throne.
Dear Allah Al-Ghafoor, I am human,
Prone to making mistakes once in a while.
By Your Mercy and because I'm Muslim,
Dear Allah, allow me in Paradise.
That You're Al-Ghafoor I believe and know.
Dear Allah, grant forgiveness in both worlds.
~Mariam Mababaya
16
Allah the Almighty said: "(Allah praises) Those who convey the Messages of Allah
and fear Him, and do not fear anyone except Allah.
And sufficient is Allah as Accountant." [Qur'an 33:39]
8. H: Allah Al-Haseeb - The Bringer Of Judgement
Allah is Al-Haseeb, the One to judge -
On Judgement Day, He'll judge His servants' acts.
He may question all, even on one's grudge -
He may ask one why he did this and that.
Allah is Al-Hakam, the Judge of all.
Only He truly knows who's wrong or right.
With His wisdom, He lets some things befall.
Allah, our God, is Al-Hakeem the Wise.
He gives some gifts to some because He knows -
He knows how each gift benefits each slave.
On Judgement Day, full justice will be shown.
All will be brought to account on that day.
Don't mind others; Allah is Al-Haseeb.
Allah Al-Hakam is whom we should please.
~Mariam Mababaya
17
Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'O' My servants who have transgressed against
themselves (By sinning), do not despair of the Mercy of Allah. Verily, Allah
forgives all sins. Verily, it is He Who is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful."
[Qur'an 39:53]
9. I: I'm Sorry O' Allah
I'm sorry o' Allah, please forgive me.
Please forgive all wrongdoings I have done.
For my neglect, o' Allah, I'm sorry.
My weakness and flaws just You understand.
I'm sorry for good deeds I did not do.
I'm sorry for wrong decisions I made.
Sorry for best options I did not choose.
I'm sorry o' Allah for all mistakes.
I'm sorry for judging some unjustly.
I'm sorry if I hurt a friend of Yours.
I'm sorry o' Allah, please forgive me -
Sorry for selecting any wrong course.
Please forgive me o' Allah, I'm sorry,
To your Heaven please allow me entry.
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "And obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad
SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) so that you may obtain mercy. And hasten to
forgiveness from your Rabb and a garden (Paradise/Jannah) as wide as the heavens
and the earth, prepared for the righteous, who spend (In Allah's Way) during ease
and hardship, and who restrain anger, and who forgive people - And Allah loves the
doers of good. And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong
themselves (By sinning), remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - And
who can forgive sins except Allah? And who do not persist in what they have done
while they know. Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Rabb and gardens
beneath which rivers flow (In Paradise/Jannah), wherein they will abide eternally;
and excellent indeed is the reward of the workers (Of righteousness)."
[Qur'an 3:132-136]
10. J: Allah Grant Me Jannah/Paradise
O' Allah, it's Friday - Yawm Al-Jumu'ah,
Sincerely I ask You for Your Jannah,
For Your Jannatul Firdaus Al-A'laa,
Near You, Dear Allah, and RasulAllah (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam).
It's Jumu'ah, o' Allah, blessed Friday -
To You o' Allah I sincerely pray,
Please bless all my acts and each word I say,
Make me worthy of seeing Your Grand Face.
I pray o' Allah that you reunite -
Me with Your friends in Jannah/Paradise,
For our talking to You each day and night,
For our faith/Iman, and shunning all lies.
On blessed Jumu'ah, I pray o' Allah,
For Your Mercy - And entry to Jannah. (Ameen.)

In whatever form He willed has He assembled you." [Qur'an 82:6-8]
11. K: Allah Al-Kareem (The Generous)
One of the Great Names of Allah is this:
Al-Kareem - The Most Generous and Kind,
Who gave each of His servants various gifts -
The best of which is Islam and His Light.
Allah Al-Kareem bestows whom He Wills.
To favor whom He Wills He has the Right.
Allah's blessings some may not see nor feel.
Who know His gifts are the grateful and wise.
Allah is Al-Kareem; He grants with grace.
He knows His servants' needs, concerns and plight.
Pray to Al-Kareem every night and day,
Allah will give you what's best with delight.

In granting them the willpower to choose,
In allowing them to feel joy and mirth,
In memories of good times they went through.
Dear Allah Al-Lateef, please answer me,
Answer all my du'as at the best time,

~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The
example of His Light is like a niche from within which is a lamp; the lamp is within
glass, the glass as if it were a pearly white star lit from a blessed olive tree, neither
of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if not touched by
flame. Light upon light. Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah
presents examples for the people, and Allah is All-Knowing of all things."

As God, He has right to do what He likes.
He knows all. For all He knows what's better.

Allah the Almighty said: "There is no compulsion in accepting the religion. The
right way has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in taghut/false
deities, and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no

Only You are the One who knows me well.
Please forgive my false speech and vile whispers.
You are the All-Hearing, Most Merciful. (Ameen.)
Dear Allah As-Samee', answer my plea -
Join me with Your friends, with whom You stay pleased. (Ameen.)

Allah the Almighty said: "And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed
by the permission of Allah. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come
to you (O' Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and asked forgiveness from
Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) had asked
forgiveness for them, they would indeed have found Allah Accepting of
repentance and Most Merciful." [Qur'an 4:64]
20. T: Allah At-Tawwaab
Dear Allah, At-Tawwaab, to You I turn -
To You I return in true repentance.
Forgive all sins I did and those I earned.
You are At-Tawwaab, please grant acceptance.
Accept my repentance, dear Allah, please -
Please open the gates to Your Great Mercy.
To Allah I run, while my sins I leave.
Dear Allah, At-Tawwaab, please forgive me.
Though I'm human, prone to making mistakes,
I turn to You Allah each day and night.
You are Al-'Aleem - You know what I say.
You are Al-Haadi - Guide me to what's right.
You are At-Tawwaab, accept my return.
As I leave my wrong past, lessons I've learned.

Allah the Almighty said: "Verily, Allah knows the unseen (Aspects) of the heavens
and the earth. And verily Allah is All-Seeing of what you do." [Qur'an 49:18]
21. U: Allah Understands
God Allah understands His servants' cries.
He understands all - Words unspoken too.
Only He knows what was done, how and why.
Allah understands what His slaves go through.
He knows each one's strengths, weaknesses and likes.
He knows your problems - How they should be solved.
He understands how for His sake you strive.
God Allah understands; He always knows.
He knows all thoughts and dreams you have at night.
He knows every act which many don't know,
Every movement, and each being who died.
Allah understands every single soul.
Allah understands the choices I make,
And how I live for Him, just for His sake.
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds,
their Rabb will admit them into His Mercy. Verily, that is the clear
attainment/victory." [Qur'an 45:30]
22. V: True Victory
True victory comes when you earn God's Love -
Allah's Mercy and Guidance to Islam,
When Allah sends you blessings from above -
Guides you to notice, learn and understand.
True victory is in passing God's tests,
In choosing humbleness over vile pride,
In doing only what for you is best,
And in leaving what God Allah derides.
The best of all kinds of victory is -
When Allah makes your biggest dream come true:
When you leave this world and all its worries,
To enter Heaven with Allah near you.
May Allah, An-Nasseer, grant victory,
And welcome me in Firdaus smilingly. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "Indeed, my protecting friend is Allah Who has sent down
the Book; and He is an ally to the righteous." [Qur'an 7:196]
23. W: Allah The True Friend Al-Waleyy
Allah, You are Al-Waleyy, my True Friend.
You are the Protecting Friend, the Most Kind.
In Allah I trust, on Him I depend,
He is the Only True Friend one can find.
He is Al-Waleyy, Who knows what is best,
In both worlds He knows what is best for me,
With me at all times, watching during tests,
The One Who grants guidance and harmony.
Allah, You know me more than I myself.
You've been my Friend since before I was born.
Allah, Al-Waleyy, Whom You will You help.
Allah's Loving Words make one never lone.
Allah Al-Waleyy is your Friend and mine -
The Truest of friends one could ever find.
~Mariam Mababaya
32
Shaddaad Bin 'Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet
Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The most superior way of asking for
Allah's forgiveness is: 'Allahumma Anta Rabby laa ilaaha illaa Anta, khalaqtany wa
anaa 'abduka, wa ana 'alaa 'ahduka, wa wa'duka mas-ta-tta't. A'udhu Bika min sharri
maa ssana't, aboo-u Laka bi-ni'matika 'alayy, wa aboo-u bidhanbi, faghfirlee fa
Innahu laa yaghfir adh-dhunooba illaa Anta.' (Meaning: O' Allah, You are my
Rabb! None has the right to be worshipped but You. You Allah created me and I
am Your servant, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise to You as much
as I can, I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before
You Allah all the blessings which You have bestowed on me, and I confess to You
all my sins, so I beseech You to forgive my sins, for no one can forgive sins except
You.) The Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam added, "If anybody
recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the
evening, he will be from the inhabitants of Paradise; and if anybody recites it at
night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the
inhabitants of Paradise." [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 2070]
24. X: 'X' On All That Allah Dislikes
'X' on all that Allah hates and dislikes.
'X' on all the mistakes I used to do.
My ex-friend is each sin and outright lie,
And obstacles which bar men from the truth.
'X' on bad habits which God Allah hates.
'X' on my faults which do not define me.
The ex-friends I've left behind are but fakes,
Who chose the paths to immorality.
For Allah's sake, I've moved away from sin -
From committing wrongs intentionally,
From being unwise in my choice of friends,
And speaking much unnecessarily.
Dear Allah, please accept my repentance,
And join me with Your friends most excellent. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
33
Allah the Almighty said: "The Messenger (Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa
sallam) has believed in what was revealed unto him from his Rabb, and so have the
believers. All of them have likewise believed in Allah and His Angels, and His
books, and His Messengers, saying, 'We make no distinction between any of His
Messengers.' And they say, 'We hear, and we obey. We seek Your forgiveness, o'
our Rabb, and to You Allah is the final destination.'" [Qur'an 2:285]
25. Y: Yes, Allah, The Almighty
Yes, Allah, once I hear you, I obey.
As I hear Your Name called, I go and pray,
Wake up even at night to supplicate -
Sincerely I long to see Your Grand Face.
Yes, Allah, I believe that You know best,
I know this world you made is too a test,
Those who wrong intently but make their mess,
And Allah knows the cries of the oppressed.
Yes, Allah, true joy money cannot buy.
It's in true Islam where peace one can find.
Yes, Allah, I talk to You day and night.
I pray You'll welcome me in Paradise. (Ameen.)
Yes, Allah, just You own the Greatest Names.
Just Allah knows all that I do and say.
~Mariam Mababaya
34
Allah the Almighty said: "Know that the life of this temporal world is but
amusement, and diversion, and adornment, and boasting to one another, and
competition in increase of wealth and progeny - like the example of rainfall whose
plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries, and you see it turned yellow; then it
becomes scattered debris. And in the Hereafter is severe penalty and forgiveness
from Allah Almighty, and approval. And what is the worldly life except the
enjoyment of delusion." [Qur'an 57:20]
26. Z: Zuhd For Allah's Sake
I may not own that many pairs of shoes,
Or keep a huge collection of clothing,
Or each day get to taste some fancy food,
Or every year find myself traveling.
I'm one of Allah's servants, which is true -
To live so humbly is most befitting,
While taking care of what I say and do,
And in God Allah I stay believing.
Zuhd is knowing our days on earth are few,
As wise travelers busy journeying -
Being pleased with good things Allah gave you,
Praying for Allah's Eternal Heaven.
Dear Allah, for my trust and faith in You,
Make my wish of seeing Your Smile come true. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
35
Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Allah's Messenger
Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Islam is based on the following five
principles: To testify that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and
Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam is the final Messenger of Allah, to
establish the obligatory prayers dutifully, to pay the compulsory Zakah/charity, to
perform Hajj/pilgrimage to Makkah, and to observe the mandatory fasting in the
noble month of Ramadan." [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 8]
27. The Five Pillars Of Islam
Five pillars of Islam all Muslims know -
To be a true Muslim, fulfill all five.
If one is unable to do Hajj, though,
Keep asking Allah for it day and night.
First pillar is Shahaada: To witness
That there's no true god but One God Allah,
And Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is last of God's Prophets.
Second pillar is to perform Salah.
Third pillar: Zakah - Giving charity.
Fourth pillar: Sawm - Fasting in Ramadan.
Fifth pillar: Hajj, if one has the money.
Fulfill Allah's Rights, as much as you can.
Five pillars of Islam - We do them all,
As true Muslims, to answer Allah's Call.
~Mariam Mababaya
36
Allah the Almighty said: "Allah witnesses that there is no true god worthy of
worship except Him, and so do the Angels and those who have knowledge - that He
Allah is maintaining creation in justice. There is no god worthy of worship but
Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Verily, the true religion in the sight of Allah is
Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after
knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And
whoever disbelieves in Allah's Verses then indeed Allah is Swift in account."
[Qur'an 3:18-19]
28. The First Pillar Of Islam: Shahaada
The first pillar of Islam: Shahaada -
To believe in Only One God Allah,
And that Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is His Last Prophet.
The Shahaada - Love, witness and accept.
Know that Allah made us to worship Him,
The True King and Master of everything.
He sent Prophets and Messengers so they
Call everyone to the Truth and Right Way.
The Right Way: To worship none but One God -
To worship Allah without fault nor fraud,
While readily obeying His Orders
And following His noble Messenger (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam).
I witness I worship none but Allah,
And know Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is RasulAllah.
~Mariam Mababaya
37
Allah the Almighty said: "So exalt Allah with praise of your Rabb and be of those
who bow down to Him in worship. And worship your Rabb Allah until there comes
to you the certainty (The return to Allah Almighty)." [Qur'an 15:98-99]
29. The Second Pillar Of Islam: Salah/Prayer
Salah - The second pillar of Islam.
Allah made all to worship none but Him.
Allah - The God of every jinn and man,
The One and Only God of everything.
For His sake, pray five prayers day and night.
Before each prayer, perform ablution.
To issue commands Allah has the right.
Salah - Great way of purification.
Pray Fajr, Dhuhr, 'Asar, Maghreb, and 'Ishaa.
Pray with humbleness and sincerity.
To earn more rewards, add Sunnah Rak'ahs.
Gains from praying: Faith, skills and unity.
Pray without asking God why we should pray -
We're here to worship Allah, not for play.
~Mariam Mababaya
38
Allah the Almighty said: "Righteousness is not that you turn your faces towards the
east or the west, but true righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last
Day (Judgement Day), the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets, and gives wealth in
spite of his love for it to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask
for help, and for freeing those in captivity, and who establishes prayer and gives
charity/Zakah, those who fulfill their promise when they make a promise, and those
who are patient during difficult times and in hardship. Those are the ones who have
been true, and it is those who are truly the righteous." [Qur'an 2:177]
30. The Third Pillar Of Islam: Zakah/Charity
Islam's third pillar: Zakah/charity.
Muslims whom Allah gave wealth must do this,
Donate food or money to the needy -
For Allah's sake, and so their wealth is blest.
In Ramadan, there's a special Zakah -
Zakatul Fitir - Paid to compensate
For wrongs they may have done - Known by Allah.
Zakah removes sins and increases faith.
Zakah extinguishes Allah's Anger,
Proves you're a good servant - A grateful one,
Makes you among Allah's friends - A winner,
And it erases sins you may have done.
Do Zakah, if you're able to do so.
Do what you can, for Allah always knows.
~Mariam Mababaya
39
Allah the Almighty said: "O' you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as
it was decreed on those before you, so that you may become righteous. (Fasting for)
A specified number of days. So whoever among you is unwell or on a journey -
then fast an equal number of days (To make up for the missed fasts). And on those
who are able (To fast but with some difficulty) - a ransom (As substitute) of feeding
a needy person each day. And whoever volunteers good (Or does more) then it is
better for him. But to fast is best for you, if only you knew. The noble month of
Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Glorious Qur'an, a guidance for the
people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights the month, let
him fast it, and whoever is unwell or on a journey - then an equal number of other
days. Allah wants for you ease and does not intend for you hardship, and wants you
to complete the period, and to glorify Allah for that which He has guided you,
and perhaps you will be grateful." [Qur'an 2:183-185]
31. The Fourth Pillar Of Islam: Sawm/Fasting
The fourth pillar of Islam: Sawm/Fasting -
Avoiding food and drink during the day.
In Ramadan, while firmly believing
God has the right to prevent what He gave.
Allah, our God, can command what He Wills.
True Muslims hear His Orders and obey.
Fasting helps one feel how the hungry feel,
And promotes gratitude each night and day.
Fasting strengthens patience and faith/Iman,
And in a way helps one control desires.
The fourth pillar: Fasting in Ramadan,
A special month for Allah's close allies.
Fast in Ramadan and on other days,
To be with those who see Allah's Grand Face.
~Mariam Mababaya
40
Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of
Prophet Abraham (May Peace be upon him), inclining towards Truth; and verily he
was not of the polytheists.' Indeed, the first House of Worship established for
mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah) - blessed, and a guidance for the worlds. In
it are clear signs such as the standing place of Prophet Abraham (May Peace be
upon him). And whoever enters it shall be safe. And due to Allah from the people is
a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever
disbelieves - then verily, Allah is free from need of the worlds." [Qur'an 3:95-97]
32. The Fifth Pillar Of Islam: Hajj/Pilgrimage To Makkah
Hajj/Pilgrimage - Fifth pillar of Islam -
Hajj in the Holy City of Makkah.
The method of Hajj one must understand.
Spending one's wealth for the sake of Allah,
Perform Hajj for Allah's sake at least once.
Perform Hajj so your sins are forgiven.
Perform Hajj, and pray for your needs and wants.
May Allah make us near Him in Heaven. (Ameen.)
Hajj is a journey to Allah for Him -
While following His Messenger's Sunnah.
Hajj - A good deed that frees you from your sins.
Hajj is a blissful journey to Allah.
Perform Hajj if you have the wealth and means.
To do Hajj, at least once, true Muslims dream.
~Mariam Mababaya
41
Allah the Almighty said: "Indeed, those who believed, and those who were Jews or
Christians, or Sabians (who came before the time of the Messenger Muhammad
SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam), those among them who sincerely believed in Allah
and the Last Day, and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Rabb,
and no fear will there be regarding them, nor will they grieve." [Qur'an 2:62]
33. The Six Pillars Of Faith/Iman
Six pillars of Faith Muslims believe in:
Belief in Allah and all His Great Names.
Belief in His Angels - From the unseen.
Belief in Allah's Books - In what He says.
Belief in His Prophets and Messengers.
Belief in the coming of Judgement Day.
Belief in Allah's Destiny - Al-Qadr.
Those are the six pillars of Iman/Faith.
Iman/Faith is to sincerely believe -
Believe with one's heart, prove with one's actions.
Iman increases by doing good deeds,
And it decreases through one's wrongdoings.
May Allah love us for our Iman/Faith.
May Allah keep us steadfast on His Way. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
42
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: One day while the
Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam was sitting out for the people,
there came a man who asked, 'What is faith?' Allah's Messenger Muhammad
SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied, 'Faith is to believe in Allah, His Angels, the
meeting with Him, His Messengers, and to believe in the Day of Resurrection.'
Then the man asked, 'What is Islam?' Allah's Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu
'alaihi wa sallam said, 'To worship Allah Alone and none else, to perform the
obligatory prayers dutifully, to pay the compulsory charity/Zakah, and to observe
the obligatory fasting during the month of Ramadan.' Then the man further asked,
'What is Ihsan/perfection?' Allah's Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied,
'Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of
devotion, then you must at least believe that Allah is always watching you.' Then
the man asked, 'When will the Hour/Judgment Day be established?' Allah's
Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied, 'The one being asked about it has
no better knowledge than the questioner, but I will inform you about its signs:
When a female servant gives birth to her master, and when the shepherds of black
camels start competing with others in the construction of high buildings. And the
Hour/Judgment Day is one of the five things which nobody knows except Allah
Almighty.' The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam then recited,
"Verily, Allah! With Him Alone is the knowledge of the Hour/Judgment Day."
[Qur'an 31:34] Afterwards the man left and the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu
'alaihi wa sallam asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see
anything of him. Then the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam stated,
'That was the Angel Jibreel (May Peace be with him) who came to teach the people
their religion (Islam)'. [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 47]
34. 1st Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah The Almighty
We believe and know that Allah is One.
We trust and testify that He is God,
The Owner and King of every kingdom,
Who rewards His slaves for their truth or fraud.
As Muslims, we believe in Allah's Names.
Allah: The Almighty, Most Merciful,
The All-Seeing Who sees all - night and day,
The All-Knowing Who knows how His slaves feel.
We believe in all of Allah's Commands,
And behind His doings there's great wisdom.
All our wants and needs Allah understands.
To have Faith in God is our decision.
May Allah love us for our Faith in Him,
And welcome us in His Lofty Gardens. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
43
Allah the Almighty said: "All Praise is due to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and
the earth, Who made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He
Allah increases in creation what He Wills. Indeed,
Allah is over all things competent." [Qur'an 35:1]
35. 2nd Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Angels
We believe that God Allah has Angels -
Army of servants who always obey.
Of light they are beautiful creations.
Each group of angels has a role to play.
We believe some Angels pray for God's friends,
Praying that believers are forgiven.
Then there are Angels who help rain descend,
And more who worship Allah in Heaven.
There are Angels who watch and list our deeds,
And special ones who guide, warn or advise.
There's the one who'll signal when earth must leave,
Angels of mercy, and that of demise.
May we meet Allah's Angels of Mercy,
For our belief in the One and Only. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
44
Allah the Almighty said: "And We have repeatedly conveyed to them the Word
(The Noble Qur'an) that they might be reminded. Those to whom We gave the
Scripture before it - they are the believers in it. And when it is recited to them, they
say, 'We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Rabb Allah. Indeed we
were even before it Muslims (Submitting to Allah Almighty).'" [Qur'an 28:51-53]
36. 3rd Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Books
We believe in Allah's Books He revealed
To His Messengers - His Divine Message.
Though the previous books were changed or concealed,
The Qur'an remains complete and perfect.
Some of Allah's Great Books we know include:
The Suhuf or Scrolls sent to Ibrahim,
Torah to Moses, Zaboor to Dawood,
Injeel to 'Isa, Qur'an Al-Kareem -
The Qur'an: Sent to Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam),
The only Book protected from men's lies.
We believe in Allah's Speech and Feedback,
And in His Words that guide us to His Light.
As Muslims, we believe in Allah's Books.
His Message: To be shared and understood.
~Mariam Mababaya
45
Allah the Almighty said: "Mankind was of one religion (Before their deviation);
then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings, and warners, and sent
down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that
in which they differed. And none differed over it (The Scripture) except those who
were given it - after the clear proofs came to them - out of jealous animosity among
themselves. And Allah guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over
which they had differed, by His permission. And Allah guides
whom He Wills to a Straight Path." [Qur'an 2:213]
37. 4th Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Messengers
We believe Allah assigned special men
To be His noble Prophets/Messengers.
To guide all to the Truth is their mission.
To belief in One God they are callers.
To various places on earth they were sent -
With the same goal - To guide all to God's Way.
Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - The last to descend
As leader of Prophets we must obey.
Many Messengers whom Allah inspired,
Many Prophets whose names only God knows,
Great lessons can be derived from their lives -
Lives of noble men who warned against wrongs.
May Allah join us with His faithful friends,
His Prophets and Messengers, in Heaven. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
46
Allah the Almighty said: "And fear a Day (Judgment Day) when you will be
returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it has earned, and
they will not be wronged (Treated unjustly)." [Qur'an 2:281]
38. 5th Pillar Of Iman: Belief In The Day Of Judgement
We too believe in the Day of Judgement -
The Day when all jinn and man come to life,
That Great Day, the Day of Resurrection,
When Truth prevails and exposed are all lies.
Allah: The Only Judge on Judgement Day,
The King of all 'kings', the Master of all,
Who will judge each one's acts, beliefs and ways.
And reward His slaves who answered His Call.
On Judgement Day, true Muslims will succeed,
By Allah's Mercy, for good deeds they did,
For their sincere efforts and right belief,
And their cautiousness of all that they said.
May Allah make us prosper on that Day,
And join us with Allah's friends by His Grace. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
47
Allah the Almighty said: "No tribulation strikes on the earth or among yourselves
except that it is already in a register before We bring it into being - indeed that, for
Allah, is easy - in order that you do not despair over what has eluded you and not
exult in pride over what He has given you. And Allah does not love that person
who is self-deluded and boastful." [Qur'an 57:22-23]
39. 6th Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Divine Destiny Qadr
We believe in Qadr - God's Divine Decree,
That Allah has Power over all things,
Just Allah knows what's best for you and me,
And Allah has knowledge of everything.
Belief in Qadr is to accept God's Will,
To know that Only God controls all things,
With His slaves He knows the best ways to deal,
Only He knows the unknown and unseen.
Nothing takes place but with His permission,
Nothing can ever be hidden from him,
He is aware of all situations -
Allah Al-'Aleem knows about all things.
May Allah make Heaven our destined place,
And may we, by God's Will, see His Grand Face. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
48
Allah the Almighty said: "And from wherever you go out for prayer, turn your face
toward Al-Masjid Al-Haram. And wherever you believers may be, turn your faces
toward it in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for
those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me (Allah). And it is so
I may complete My Favor upon you and that you may be guided. Just as We have
sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and
purifying you, and teaching you the Book and wisdom, and teaching you that which
you did not know. So remember Me (Allah), I will remember you, and be grateful
to Me and do not deny Me." [Qur'an 2:150-152]
40. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Taqwa: Fear Of Allah
Have fear of Allah, be in awe of Him -
God Allah Who created everything,
The Master of all, King of everyone,
Who knows what all His slaves have said and done.
To Fear Allah is to have deep respect,
Respect all His Rules we must not neglect.
To fear Allah is to follow His Laws,
And Acknowledge that Allah always knows.
Have Taqwa: Fear Only Allah always,
Through watchfulness of what you do and say,
Through doing lots of good deeds day and night,
And making sure that all your works are right.
May Allah bless our Taqwa we maintain,
And join us with those who pass Heaven's Gates. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
49
Allah the Almighty said: "The believers are only those, when Allah is mentioned,
their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases
them in faith, and upon their Rabb Allah they always rely - The ones who establish
prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. Indeed those are the
true believers. For them are degrees of high position with their Rabb and
forgiveness, and noble provision." [Qur'an 8:2-4]
41. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Tawakkal: Trust In Allah Almighty
Have trust in Allah as His Muslim friends.

Or to train you, or life's maze guide you through.
Tests develop you, or erase your sins,
Or they check your actions and help you think.
Allah only wants what's best for His slaves.
Signs and reminders Allah grants always.
Trust Allah; He watches all at all times.
Allah is there to listen day and night.
Trust that Allah's Mercy exceeds His wrath.
May Allah make us among those He loves. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
50
Allah the Almighty said: "And of the people is he who sells himself, seeking means
to the approval of Allah. And Allah is Most Kind to His servants. O' you who have
believed, enter into Islam completely and perfectly, and do not follow the footsteps
of shaytan. Indeed, he is to you an avowed enemy." [Qur'an 2:207-208]

Allah is our King Whom we can trust in. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
51
Allah the Almighty said: "Say, (O' Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam), 'If

sins. And Allah is the Most Forgiving and Most Merciful.'" [Qur'an 3:31]
43. Good Manners Of A Muslim~

And welcome us in Heaven while smiling. (Ameen.)

Allah the Almighty said: "So when the Noble Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and
pay attention so that you may receive mercy. And remember your Rabb Allah
within yourself in humility and in fear, without being apparent in speech - in the
mornings and in the evenings. And do not be among the heedless (Or neglectful)."
[Qur'an 7:204-205]
69. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Regularly Reciting From The Noble Qur'an
As Allah's servants, listen to His Speech,
Read and recite from the Noble Qur'an.
Learn the Qur'an, share, practice what you preach,
And its blessed language try to understand.
Many stories mentioned in the Qur'an,
Of some of Allah's Prophets we must know,
Great events that took place in various lands,
Lessons we can learn from, and proofs to show.
Reading the Qur'an may dispel your woes.
Knowing Allah's Message strengthens your Faith.
To Allah, through the Qur'an, be so close,
So Allah loves you and shows you His Way.
May Allah Most Kind accept our good deeds,
And love us for loving His Noble Speech. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "Verily, Qarun was from the people of Prophet Moses
(May Peace be upon him) but Qarun oppressed them. And We gave him of
treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said
to him, 'Do not exult. Indeed, Allah Almighty does not like the arrogant exultant.
But seek through that which Allah has given you the home of the Hereafter, while
not forgetting your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you.
And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are
corrupt.' He said, 'I was only given it because of knowledge that I have.' Did he not
know that Allah destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than
him in power and greater in accumulation of wealth? But the criminals about their
numerous sins will not be asked. So he came out before his people in his
adornment. Those who desired the worldly life said, 'Oh, would that we had like
what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune.' But those who have
been granted knowledge said, 'Woe to you! The reward of Allah is far better for
whoever believes and does righteousness. And none are granted it except the
patient ones.'" [Qur'an 28:76-80]
70. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Avoiding A Materialistic Lifestyle
Remember, all of us are Allah's slaves,
Created to worship none but Just Him -
Allah: Our King Who rotates night and day,
The Only God, Master of everything.
Live humbly and simply, for Allah's sake.
Earn money to survive and be thankful,
Grateful to Allah for all good He gave -
Through being obedient and merciful.
Be of those who do good with what they save.
Do charity, spend on your family,
Support Allah, guide others to His Way,
And while using your wealth, do so wisely.
May Allah bless us for preferring Him
Over this temporal world and our whims. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
79
Allah the Almighty said: "And Allah created you all, then He will take you back in
death. And among you is he who is reversed to the most decrepit old age so that he
will not know after having had knowledge a thing. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing
and Most Competent. And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision.
But those who were favored (Given more) would not hand over their provision to
those whom their right hands possess (Servants who work for them) so they would
be equal to them therein. Then is it Allah's favor which they deny?"
[Qur'an 16:70-71]
71. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Avoiding Jealousy
As Allah's slaves, be content with His gifts.
Be grateful for all blessings Allah gave,
Which may be too many for you to list -
Among which are Islam, knowledge and faith.
Regarding worldly wants, do not compare
Yourself to sinners or the ungrateful.
Notice those who don't have enough, and share
What you can give to prove you are thankful.
Avoid envy. Be happy for others.
Much jealousy may erase some good deeds.
Know that we're Muslims - Sisters and brothers,
And Allah gives whom He Wills their true needs.
May Allah, the Most Just, be with us pleased,
And let us in Heaven for our belief. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: “And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in
a way that would make the orphan's situation better until he reaches maturity. And
fulfill every covenant and promise. Indeed, the commitment is ever that about
which one will be questioned. And give full measure when you measure, and weigh
with an honest and even balance. That is the best way and best in result. And do not
pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Verily, the hearing, the sight, and the
heart - about every one of those will be questioned.”
[Qur'an 17:34-36]
72. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Judge Yourself Before You Will Be Judged
Muslim or not - Everyone will be judged,
Asked by the Only God on Judgement Day -
About their deeds, speech, or what they thought of.
Thus, be watchful of what you do and say.
Before you judge others, first check yourselves,
While still enjoining what is good and right.
Good deeds and speech, on Judgement Day, can help -
Those who succeed are those with Allah's Light.
Take yourselves into account, know your deeds,
Before Allah will judge or question you.
Maintain good manners and correct belief.
Only to please Allah you say and do.
May Allah forgive all our wrongdoings,
And meet us on that Day while He's smiling. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
81
Allah the Almighty said: "Do they not know that Allah extends provision for whom
He Wills and restricts it from whom He Wills? Indeed in that are signs for a people
who believe. Say, 'O' My servants who have transgressed against themselves (By
sinning), do not despair of the Mercy of Allah. Verily, Allah forgives all sins.
Indeed, it is He Allah who is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.'"
[Qur'an 39:52-53]
73. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Never Despair Of Allah's Mercy
Dear Muslims, fellow servants of the One -
Loving slaves of Allah, the Only God,
No matter how many sins you have done,
Allah Most Kind can forgive all your flaws.
Muslims are humans - Free from perfection.
Now and then, we're prone to making mistakes.
To trust Allah is an obligation.
That Allah pardons and guides you please pray.
Even if your sins were to reach the skies,
And you repented, Allah can forgive.
Allah the Most Merciful knows all cries,
And is Extra Kind to those who believe.
May Allah forgive all our sins many,
And love us for not doubting His Mercy. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
82
Allah the Almighty said: "Verily, the believers are but brothers, so make settlement
(And peace) between your brothers. And fear Allah so that you may receive
mercy." [Qur'an 49:10]
74. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Muslim Sisterhood And Brotherhood
All are servants of Allah the One God.
Muslims - Brothers and sisters in Islam.
With Faith and Truth, and shunning sins and fraud,
Muslim friends you can better understand.
To be good sisters/brothers in Islam,
Be truthful, cheerful, welcoming and kind,
Trustworthy, fair, willing to lend a hand,
Humble, forgiving, understanding, wise.
The Way to Allah show others and guide.
If you love some for Allah, let them know,
Through kindness and teaching them what is right,
And keeping them away from what is wrong.
May Allah join us with His allies true,
And make us near Him for the good we do. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
83
Allah the Almighty said: "O' mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth, so let
not the worldly life delude you, and be not deceived about Allah by the deceiver
(shaytan). Indeed, shaytan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only
invites his party to be among the companions of Hell." [Qur'an 35:5-6]
75. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Enmity To Shaytan
Remember, love and hate for Allah's sake.
Those whom Allah loves - Love them and support.
As for Allah's foes - Don't follow their ways.
Mistrust them and to them do not get close.
Show enmity to shaytan through good deeds,
Faith, truth, manners, and differing from him,
Sincerity, sharing the True Belief,
Learning Islam, and not worshipping whims.
Know that shaytan's ways only lead to Hell,
That many are with him there he desires,
His whispers are lies - The faithful can tell,
And he loves sinners, the proud, and liars.
May Allah the Almighty, Only King,
Forgive us, and join us with those near Him. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
84
Allah the Almighty said: "And remind, for indeed, the reminder (And advice)
benefits the believers. And I (Allah) did not create the jinn and mankind except to
worship Me (Allah) Alone." [Qur'an 51:55-56]
76. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Willingness To Give Advice
Giving advice is an act of mercy.
Being merciful is proof of one's Faith.
Advise with wisdom and sincerity.
Help others be guided to Allah's Way.
Love for Muslims what you'd want for yourselves.
When you love some, help them do what is right.
Let events be understood, feelings felt,
And assist the lost to find Allah's Light.
When asked for advice, grant it with kindness.
To earn Allah's Mercy, be likewise kind.
While some affairs may not be your business,
For Allah be willing to give advice.
May Allah's Mercy be on us always,
For guiding others towards His Straight Way. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
85
Allah the Almighty said: "Rather worship Allah Alone and be among the grateful."
[Qur'an 39:66]
77. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Thankfulness And Gratitude
As true Muslims, show gratitude always.
Be thankful to Allah and His slaves too.
Be grateful that Allah showed you His Way,
And for servants whom He Wills to meet you.
Allah's Mercy you earn in many ways,
Even through His slaves whom you get to meet.
Thank them for their kindness, good words they say,
Their favors, support, and lessons they teach.
Be thankful. Say, 'JazaakAllahu Khair!'
When a Muslim helps or does something nice.
Be grateful to loved ones and those who share.
To be thankful means being fair and wise.
May Allah the Most Generous love us -
For always thanking Him and being just. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
86
Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'My Rabb Allah has only forbidden immoralities -
what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and wrongdoing/sin, and
oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He Allah
has not sent down any authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do
not know." [Qur'an 7:33]
78. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Avoiding The Du'as Of The Oppressed
Avoid oppression, for Allah hates it.
It is preventing people from their rights,
Harming them or having their needs unmet,
Stealing from them, mocking, or telling lies.
What goes around comes around. Allah knows.
All deeds find their way back to their doers.
On Judgement Day, true justice will be shown,
And the truthful distinguished from liars.
Shun doing any form of oppression,
For those you mistreat may pray against you.
Sins lead to Hell. Good deeds lead to Heaven.
Always take note of what you say and do.
May Allah Most Kind always forgive us,
And reward us for helping the oppressed. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
87
Allah the Almighty said: "So fear Allah as much as you are able, and listen, and
obey, and spend in the Way of Allah; it is better for yourselves. And whoever is
protected from the miserliness of his soul - it is those who will be the successful (In
both worlds). If you loan Allah a goodly loan, He Allah will surely multiply it for
you and forgive you. And Allah is Most Appreciative and Most Forbearing, the
Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, and the Most Wise."
[Qur'an 64:16-18]
79. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Striving Towards Perfection/Excellence
As Allah's servants, strive to be perfect,
Though it's true "None is perfect but Allah".
Excel in all good matters and aspects,
While abiding by the Prophet's Sunnah.
When trying to please Allah, do your best.
Do as much as you can of righteous deeds.
Strengthen Faith/Iman to pass Allah's tests.
Only Allah is Whom we live to please.
Like top students, always try to do more.
Try to excel, without being extreme.
Striving hard is a sign that you adore
God Allah, Who loves His friends, the sincere.
May Allah make us among His close friends
Always, for good deeds done with excellence. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
88
Allah the Almighty said: "Compete with one another towards forgiveness from
your Rabb Allah and a Garden (Paradise) whose width is like the width of the
heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believed in Allah and His
Messengers. That is the bounty of Allah which He gives to whom He Wills, and
Allah is the Owner of great bounty." [Qur'an 57:21]
80. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Competing In Righteousness
Life is like a race - A competition,
In which the wise know how to play the game -
They know Allah's Rules and prohibitions.
To enter Heaven with peace is their aim.
The winners in this race are the sincere,
Who compete with others in doing good.
Allah, the Only Judge - They love and fear.
Their main goal in life they have understood.
Humble and true, they help others join in -
To win the Love of Allah together.
Encourage good deeds. Repent from all sins.
For Allah's sake, remind one another.
May Allah accept all of our good deeds,
And let us in Heaven while He is Pleased. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya
89
Allah the Almighty said: "And when you are greeted with a greeting (Of
peace/salaam), greet in response with one better than it or at least return the
greeting in a similar manner. Verily, Allah is ever over all things an Accountant.
Allah - There is no god worthy of worship except Him. He Allah will surely
assemble you for judgement on the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no
doubt. And who is more truthful than Allah in statement." [Qur'an 4:86-87]
81. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Spreading Peace/Salaam
True humble friends of Allah exchange peace -
Greetings of Salaam with fellow Muslims,
To please Allah, have their good deeds increased,
And let their righteous deeds erase their sins.
Share Salaam to follow the Prophet's Way.
Stick to his Sunnah, and love his manners.
Greet with the Salaam to brighten one's day.
Greet Muslim loved ones, guests, friends and neighbors.
Those with the strongest faith greet more often -
With the Salaam - Those they know and don't know.
Spreading Salaam is done by real Muslims,
Who love that their Faith and Islam are shown.
May Allah Most Kind greet us with Salaam,
In Heaven, for our kindness and Islam. (Ameen.)
~Mariam Mababaya

Allah the Almighty said: "It is He Allah who created the heavens and the earth in
six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He Allah knows what goes
into the earth and what emerges from it, and what descends from the heaven and
what ascends therein; and He Allah is with you wherever you are. And Allah of
what you do is All-Seeing. His is the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And to
Allah are returned all matters." [Qur'an 57:4-5]
82. Good Manners Of A Muslim~
Worship Allah Almighty As Though You See Him
Although we have not seen God Allah yet,
We know that Allah sees all that we do.
Aware that He grants us different tests,
We make our acts good and intentions true.
Worship God Allah as though you see Him,
To perfect good deeds and avoid mistakes,
To be willing to repent from your sins,
And be blessed by Allah each night and day.
As if He sees you, worship Allah well,
Knowing that Allah sees you at all times.
All acts - Private and public - God can tell.
No slave can hide anything with their lies.
May God Allah allow us to see Him,
And join us with His friends for shunning sins. (Ameen.)

  • 9. 9 Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'He is Allah [Who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is He begotten, nor is there anyone equivalent to Him.'" [Qur'an 112:1-4] 1. A: Allah The One And Only God Allah: The One and Only God of all - Allah is the One who created us. He's the King of all 'kings'; obey His Call. To worship none but Allah 'tis a must. We know Allah through everything He made. We recognize Allah through His great signs: The universe, skies, sun, moon, night and day, Animals, people, movement, food and time. Allah owns everything and everyone. Allah made us to worship none but Him. Our main goal in life is not games nor fun. We're Allah's servants, made to be Muslims. There's no true god except Allah Alone. Worship Him only, so Heaven's your Home. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 10. 10 Allah the Almighty said: "Allah - There is no god except for Him, the Ever-Living One, the Sustainer of all existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they do not encompass anything of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He Allah is the Most High, the Most Great." [Qur'an 2:255] 2. B: Bismillah In The Name Of Allah 'Bismillah' - An amazing phrase to say. 'In the Name of Allah' before blest acts. 'Bismillah' - Sincerely each night and day. True Muslims remember Allah a lot. Say 'Bismillah' before you eat and drink, Say 'Bismillah' before you go to bed, Before entering a room or leaving. Say 'Bismillah' so your deeds will be blessed. In the Name of Allah the Almighty, We start most of our deeds with 'Bismillah': 'Bismillah' to receive Allah's Mercy, To be close to Him and RasulAllah (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam). 'Bismillah' - Great words said by Allah's friends, Who long to be near Allah in Heaven. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 11. 11 Allah the Almighty said: "O' mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator besides Allah who provides for you from the heavens and earth? There is no god worthy of worship except Him, so how then are you deluded?" [Qur'an 35:3] 3. C: Allah The Creator [Al-Khaliq] Allah Al-Khaliq created everything.
  • 12. 12 Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam used to supplicate to Allah at the time of distress saying, “Laa ilaaha illaallaahu Al-'Atheem Al-Haleem, Laa ilaaaha illaallaahu Rabbul 'arshul 'Atheem, Laa ilaaha illaallaahu Rabbus-samaawaati wa Rabbul-ardhi wa Rabbul 'arshul Kareem.” (Meaning: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Majestic, the Most Forbearing. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Rabb of the Tremendous Throne. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Rabb of the heavens and the Rabb of the earth, and the Rabb of the Honorable Throne.) [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 2079] 4. D: Dear Allah Dear Allah, 'tis the month of Muharram, Please forgive me. Please pardon all my sins. Dear Allah, please erase all sins I've done, Through good deeds I do and my believing. Dear Allah, please reunite me with them - My dear parents who died in the same year. Please forgive them and join us in Heaven, By Your Mercy - Through our du'as and tears. The oppressed' prayers are answered - please show - All will be rewarded on Judgment Day. Dear Allah, Your Mercy on us bestow, Guide us in each moment and what we say. Dear Allah, while smiling let us see You, And make our dream of meeting You come true. (Ameen.) ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 13. 13 Allah the Almighty said: "He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner, to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth exalts Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." [Qur'an 59:23-24] 5. E: Allah the Exalted (Al-'Aleyy Al-'Atheem) There's excellence in Allah's creation. All things He designed in due proportion. See the sun, moon, stars, blue seas and oceans, The wind, mighty mountains, green plantations, Diversity in people's looks and speech, The signs Allah showed them so they believe, Their various skills and personalities, And in how we're all equal yet unique. There's excellence in all that Allah made - Excellence in nature He did create, As in the rotation of night and day, And in His Angels who list what we say. Allah is the Perfect, the Exalted. There's wisdom in all that He created. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 14. 14 Allah the Almighty said: "He (Allah) is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is of all things All-Knowing. It is He who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what goes into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heavens and what ascends therein, and He is with you wherever you are. And Allah of what you do is All-Seeing." [Qur'an 57:3-4] 6. F: Allah is the First (Al-Awwal) Allah is the First and Only True God. Before Allah there is no deity. So-called 'gods' besides Him are false and fraud. Allah is the First, the One God Only. Allah is the Only God, Al-Awwal. He is Al-Aakhir, no god after Him. Our God Allah is the Most Merciful, King of all 'kings', Master of everything. Before any deed, think first of Allah. Ask yourself, 'For this will Allah love me? Will this act be loved by RasulAllah (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam)? Or will it cause Allah to be displeased?' Before all things, remember Al-Awwal, Allah - The First, the Only God of all. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 15. 15 Allah the Almighty said: "And seek forgiveness from Allah. Verily, Allah is Ever Forgiving and Merciful." [Qur'an 4:106] 7. G: Allah is the Most Forgiving (Al-Ghafoor) Allah is Al-Ghafoor, the Forgiving - The Most Forgiving of those who forgive. Dear Allah Al-Ghafoor, forgive my sins. That You Allah can pardon I believe. Dear Allah Al-Ghafoor, forgive me please. Forgive all wrongs I did - I did not know. Forgive my misdeeds done ignorantly - Your Mercy extends beyond Your Great Throne. Dear Allah Al-Ghafoor, I am human, Prone to making mistakes once in a while. By Your Mercy and because I'm Muslim, Dear Allah, allow me in Paradise. That You're Al-Ghafoor I believe and know. Dear Allah, grant forgiveness in both worlds. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 16. 16 Allah the Almighty said: "(Allah praises) Those who convey the Messages of Allah and fear Him, and do not fear anyone except Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Accountant." [Qur'an 33:39] 8. H: Allah Al-Haseeb - The Bringer Of Judgement Allah is Al-Haseeb, the One to judge - On Judgement Day, He'll judge His servants' acts. He may question all, even on one's grudge - He may ask one why he did this and that. Allah is Al-Hakam, the Judge of all. Only He truly knows who's wrong or right. With His wisdom, He lets some things befall. Allah, our God, is Al-Hakeem the Wise. He gives some gifts to some because He knows - He knows how each gift benefits each slave. On Judgement Day, full justice will be shown. All will be brought to account on that day. Don't mind others; Allah is Al-Haseeb. Allah Al-Hakam is whom we should please. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 17. 17 Allah the Almighty said: "Say, 'O' My servants who have transgressed against themselves (By sinning), do not despair of the Mercy of Allah. Verily, Allah forgives all sins. Verily, it is He Who is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful." [Qur'an 39:53] 9. I: I'm Sorry O' Allah I'm sorry o' Allah, please forgive me. I'm sorry o' Allah, please forgive me - Sorry for selecting any wrong course. Please forgive me o' Allah, I'm sorry, To your Heaven please allow me entry. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 18. 18 Allah the Almighty said: "And obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) so that you may obtain mercy. And hasten to forgiveness from your Rabb and a garden (Paradise/Jannah) as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous, who spend (In Allah's Way) during ease and hardship, and who restrain anger, and who forgive people - And Allah loves the doers of good. And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves (By sinning), remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - And who can forgive sins except Allah? And who do not persist in what they have done while they know. Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Rabb and gardens beneath which rivers flow (In Paradise/Jannah), wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent indeed is the reward of the workers (Of righteousness)." [Qur'an 3:132-136] 10. J: Allah Grant Me Jannah/Paradise O' Allah, it's Friday - Yawm Al-Jumu'ah, Sincerely I ask You for Your Jannah, For Your Jannatul Firdaus Al-A'laa, Near You, Dear Allah, and RasulAllah (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam). It's Jumu'ah, o' Allah, blessed Friday - To You o' Allah I sincerely pray, Please bless all my acts and each word I say, Make me worthy of seeing Your Grand Face. I pray o' Allah that you reunite - Me with Your friends in Jannah/Paradise, For our talking to You each day and night, For our faith/Iman, and shunning all lies. On blessed Jumu'ah, I pray o' Allah, For Your Mercy - And entry to Jannah. (Ameen.) ~Mariam Mababaya

In whatever form He willed has He assembled you." [Qur'an 82:6-8] 11. K: Allah Al-Kareem (The Generous) One of the Great Names of Allah is this: Al-Kareem - The Most Generous and Kind, Who gave each of His servants various gifts - The best of which is Islam and His Light. Pray to Al-Kareem every night and day, Allah will give you what's best with delight. Dear Allah Al-Kareem, to You I pray - I pray to join those who see Your Grand Face. (Ameen.) ~Mariam Mababaya

  • 35. 35 Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Allah's Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Islam is based on the following five principles: To testify that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam is the final Messenger of Allah, to establish the obligatory prayers dutifully, to pay the compulsory Zakah/charity, to perform Hajj/pilgrimage to Makkah, and to observe the mandatory fasting in the noble month of Ramadan." [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 8] 27. The Five Pillars Of Islam Five pillars of Islam all Muslims know - To be a true Muslim, fulfill all five. If one is unable to do Hajj, though, Keep asking Allah for it day and night. First pillar is Shahaada: To witness That there's no true god but One God Allah, And Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is last of God's Prophets. Second pillar is to perform Salah. Third pillar: Zakah - Giving charity. Fourth pillar: Sawm - Fasting in Ramadan. Fifth pillar: Hajj, if one has the money. Fulfill Allah's Rights, as much as you can. Five pillars of Islam - We do them all, As true Muslims, to answer Allah's Call. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 36. 36 Allah the Almighty said: "Allah witnesses that there is no true god worthy of worship except Him, and so do the Angels and those who have knowledge - that He Allah is maintaining creation in justice. There is no god worthy of worship but Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Verily, the true religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in Allah's Verses then indeed Allah is Swift in account." [Qur'an 3:18-19] 28. The First Pillar Of Islam: Shahaada The first pillar of Islam: Shahaada - To believe in Only One God Allah, And that Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is His Last Prophet. The Shahaada - Love, witness and accept. Know that Allah made us to worship Him, The True King and Master of everything. He sent Prophets and Messengers so they Call everyone to the Truth and Right Way. The Right Way: To worship none but One God - To worship Allah without fault nor fraud, While readily obeying His Orders And following His noble Messenger (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam). I witness I worship none but Allah, And know Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is RasulAllah. ~Mariam Mababaya

And worship your Rabb Allah until there comes to you the certainty (The return to Allah Almighty)." [Qur'an 15:98-99] 29. The Second Pillar Of Islam: Salah/Prayer Salah - The second pillar of Islam. Allah made all to worship none but Him. Allah - The God of every jinn and man, The One and Only God of everything. Pray without asking God why we should pray - We're here to worship Allah, not for play. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 38. 38 Allah the Almighty said: "Righteousness is not that you turn your faces towards the east or the west, but true righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day (Judgement Day), the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets, and gives wealth in spite of his love for it to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask for help, and for freeing those in captivity, and who establishes prayer and gives charity/Zakah, those who fulfill their promise when they make a promise, and those who are patient during difficult times and in hardship. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are truly the righteous." [Qur'an 2:177] 30. The Third Pillar Of Islam: Zakah/Charity Islam's third pillar: Zakah/charity. Muslims whom Allah gave wealth must do this, Donate food or money to the needy - For Allah's sake, and so their wealth is blest. In Ramadan, there's a special Zakah - Zakatul Fitir - Paid to compensate For wrongs they may have done - Known by Allah. Zakah removes sins and increases faith. Zakah extinguishes Allah's Anger, Proves you're a good servant - A grateful one, Makes you among Allah's friends - A winner, And it erases sins you may have done. Do Zakah, if you're able to do so. Do what you can, for Allah always knows. ~Mariam Mababaya
  • 39. 39 Allah the Almighty said: "O' you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed on those before you, so that you may become righteous. (Fasting for) A specified number of days. So whoever among you is unwell or on a journey - then fast an equal number of days (To make up for the missed fasts). And on those who are able (To fast but with some difficulty) - a ransom (As substitute) of feeding a needy person each day. And whoever volunteers good (Or does more) then it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if only you knew. The noble month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Glorious Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights the month, let him fast it, and whoever is unwell or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah wants for you ease and does not intend for you hardship, and wants you to complete the period, and to glorify Allah for that which He has guided you, and perhaps you will be grateful." [Qur'an 2:183-185] 31. The Fourth Pillar Of Islam: Sawm/Fasting The fourth pillar of Islam: Sawm/Fasting - Avoiding food and drink during the day. In Ramadan, while firmly believing God has the right to prevent what He gave. Allah, our God, can command what He Wills. True Muslims hear His Orders and obey. Fasting helps one feel how the hungry feel, And promotes gratitude each night and day. Fasting strengthens patience and faith/Iman, And in a way helps one control desires. The fourth pillar: Fasting in Ramadan, A special month for Allah's close allies. Fast in Ramadan and on other days, To be with those who see Allah's Grand Face. ~Mariam Mababaya

In it are clear signs such as the standing place of Prophet Abraham (May Peace be upon him). And whoever enters it shall be safe. And due to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then verily, Allah is free from need of the worlds." [Qur'an 2:62] 33. The Six Pillars Of Faith/Iman Six pillars of Faith Muslims believe in: Belief in Allah and all His Great Names. Iman/Faith is to sincerely believe - Believe with one's heart, prove with one's actions. Iman increases by doing good deeds, And it decreases through one's wrongdoings. Then the man asked, 'What is Islam?' Allah's Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, 'To worship Allah Alone and none else, to perform the obligatory prayers dutifully, to pay the compulsory charity/Zakah, and to observe the obligatory fasting during the month of Ramadan.' Then the man further asked, 'What is Ihsan/perfection?' Allah's Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied, 'Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion, then you must at least believe that Allah is always watching you.' Then the man asked, 'When will the Hour/Judgment Day be established?' Allah's Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied, 'The one being asked about it has no better knowledge than the questioner, but I will inform you about its signs: When a female servant gives birth to her master, and when the shepherds of black camels start competing with others in the construction of high buildings. And the Hour/Judgment Day is one of the five things which nobody knows except Allah Almighty.' The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam then recited, "Verily, Allah! With Him Alone is the knowledge of the Hour/Judgment Day." [Qur'an 31:34] Afterwards the man left and the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see anything of him. Then the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam stated, 'That was the Angel Jibreel (May Peace be with him) who came to teach the people their religion (Islam)'. [Sahih Bukhari Hadith 47] 34. 1st Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah The Almighty We believe and know that Allah is One. We trust and testify that He is God, The Owner and King of every kingdom, Who rewards His slaves for their truth or fraud. As Muslims, we believe in Allah's Names. [Qur'an 35:1] 35. 2nd Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Angels We believe that God Allah has Angels - Army of servants who always obey. Of light they are beautiful creations. Each group of angels has a role to play. We believe some Angels pray for God's friends, Praying that believers are forgiven. Then there are Angels who help rain descend, And more who worship Allah in Heaven. There are Angels who watch and list our deeds, And special ones who guide, warn or advise. There's the one who'll signal when earth must leave, Angels of mercy, and that of demise. May we meet Allah's Angels of Mercy, For our belief in the One and Only. (Ameen.) ~Mariam Mababaya

And Allah guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And Allah guides whom He Wills to a Straight Path." [Qur'an 2:213] 37. 4th Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Messengers We believe Allah assigned special men To be His noble Prophets/Messengers. To guide all to the Truth is their mission. To belief in One God they are callers. To various places on earth they were sent - With the same goal - To guide all to God's Way. Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - The last to descend As leader of Prophets we must obey. Many Messengers whom Allah inspired, Many Prophets whose names only God knows, Great lessons can be derived from their lives - Lives of noble men who warned against wrongs. Allah: The Only Judge on Judgement Day, The King of all 'kings', the Master of all, Who will judge each one's acts, beliefs and ways. And reward His slaves who answered His Call. On Judgement Day, true Muslims will succeed, By Allah's Mercy, for good deeds they did, For their sincere efforts and right belief, And their cautiousness of all that they said. May Allah make us prosper on that Day, And join us with Allah's friends by His Grace. (Ameen.) ~Mariam Mababaya

And Allah does not love that person who is self-deluded and boastful." [Qur'an 57:22-23] 39. 6th Pillar Of Iman: Belief In Allah's Divine Destiny Qadr We believe in Qadr - God's Divine Decree, That Allah has Power over all things, Just Allah knows what's best for you and me, And Allah has knowledge of everything. Belief in Qadr is to accept God's Will, To know that Only God controls all things, With His slaves He knows the best ways to deal, Only He knows the unknown and unseen.
