Make the decision FOR the

3. What we wanted to do:
• Learn to make a simple GIS application!
• .. that works
• .. and helps people find interesting places close to
them!

4. • Random sample of 4 venues at user location
• Buffer of 1 km
• Resampling of 1 or all venues and
• Resampling at given location
• Data: works of art data provided by Turku + museum etc.

• Platform: Openstreetmap.org = fairly lightweight

5. Conclusions and future
• Creating GIS is way harder than using it
• GIS requires creativity
• More data and data filters!
• Add descriptions about venues to data!
• Write tour into a log
• Port to handheld devices
