2. God created you with inborn
talents and intelligences that you can
use to live an upright and joyful life.
Some children can sing well; some can
dance, or draw magnificently. Others
are good in speech or mathematics,
or science.
3. This lesson will help you ...
1. Identify the talents and intelligences that
God has given you.
2. Reflect on how you can use these talents and
intelligences so that you can become an
outstanding child.
3. Determine the source of your self-worth and
confidence.
7. One summer, Buning was born, along with
other young sheep in the field. As time went by, the
other young sheep kept growing; but Buning
remained very small. Because of this, she was often
ridiculed by other sheep, and nobody
wanted to become her friend.
This has made Buning very sad.
8. Buning tried covering her body
with the white flowers that have fallen
from the trees, so that she could look a
little bigger. It worked for a while. But
when the wind blew hard, it took away
all the flowers from her body.
9. One time, she took some sheared wool from
other sheep, and added to her own to make it look
thicker, and her body bigger. This, too, worked for a
while; but soon, the added wool fell from her body as
she moved.
What else could Buning do so
that she could become bigger?
10. One evening, while all the sheep were resting under
the moonlight, a very hungry wolf came to the field.
He saw all the sheep and felt even hungrier.
"Such delicious
dinner!" he wolfishly
thought.
11. The wolf did not waste any moment. He moved
toward the sheep's location right away. But the
sheep saw him approaching and started running
away. He chased them until they got very tired but
he did not notice Buning, the tiny sheep.
12. He was about to bite one of the young sheep, when
he suddenly cried, “Ooooouuch!”
“Something bit my tail!” Then he saw the
shadow of a very scary creature.
13. The wolf turned out to be a coward one, saying,
"Pleeease! Have mercy! I promise, I'll leave these
sheep alone!" Then, he ran away at once without
noticing that the very scary shadow was just a tiny
sheep. Yes, it was Buning!
14. She covered her body with different things
so she could make a big, scary shadow of
herself. Alas! Buning was able to save, not just
the young sheep, but all the sheep in the field.
Since then, she has become everyone's favorite
friend, and never been laughed at again.
17. There are circumstances in your life that
badly affect how you see yourself, that
sometimes, you lose faith in what you really
can do. You should never forget, however,
that you are nothing else but good, because
that's how God created you!
18. God has given you talents and
intelligences that you should continuously
discover and develop. By doing this, you can
reach your dreams, and help others as well.
Trust in God.
