Bemidji, MN – The Bemidji Axemen will travel to Iowa this weekend for a game
against the Cedar Rapids Titans.
Cedar Rapids is coming off a second straight victory. They beat the Green Bay
Blizzard last weekend by a score of 50-32. They have an 8-4 record going into this
weekend and have a shot to clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win. Cedar Rapids
offense is averaging 46.9 points per game, which is 3rd best in the IFL. They have
converted 44% of third downs, which is good for the 3rd best percentage in the IFL.
The Titans defense allows 36.8 points per game, a number that is second best in the
league.
The Titans passing attack is led by Sam Durley who has completed 119 of 217 for
1384 yards and 27 touchdowns. Durley is second in the league in yards per game
with a 153.8 average per game. Washaun Ealey leads the Cedar Rapids rushing
attack. Ealey rushes for 37.8 yards per game and has rushed for 18 touchdowns.
Both are good for 3rd best in the IFL. Bryan Pray and Willie Carter are the leading
receivers for the Titans. Pray has caught 44 passes for 610 yards and 13
touchdowns. Carter has caught 38 passes for 458 yards and 10 touchdowns. Nick
Haag leads the defense with 89 tackles. Jeremiah Price leads the IFL with 11 sacks, 4
fumbles forced and 4 fumbles recovered. Xzavie Jackson is tied for second in the
league with 8 sacks.
Bemidji is coming off a 76-26 loss to the Iowa Barnstormers. The loss was the 9th
straight for Bemidji and the Axemen now sit with a 2-11 record. The Bemidji
offense is 3rd in the IFL in rushing with a total of 1005 yards and an average of 85
yards per game. The offense is second in the IFL in first downs with a total of 234.
The Axemen lead the league in fumbles and penalties.
Efi Eyo who made his first start last week currently leads the Axemen passing
attack. He completed 7 of 25 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 8
times for 40 yards and a touchdown. Mulku Kalokoh leads the ground game for
Bemidji. He averages 37.7 yards rushing per game. He has a total of 470 yards, 3rd
best in the IFL and also has 11 touchdowns. Josh Jarboe is the leading receiver. He
has 65 catches for 682 yards and 11 touchdowns.
