2. What is Lasix?
– A medication used to treat fluid build-up due to heart failure, liver scarring, or
kidney disease.

3. How does Lasix affect the body?
– By blocking the absorption of sodium, chloride, and water from filtered fluid in
the kidney tubules, causing a profound increase in the output of urine
(diuresis).

4. What are the side affects of Lasix?
– Nausea or vomiting
– Diarrhea
– Constipation
– Stomach cramping
– Feeling like you or the room spinning (vertigo)
– Dizziness
– Headache
– Blurred vision

5. Maximum dosage of Lasix
– Adults
– Injectable solution- 10mg/mL
– Oral Solution- 10mg/mL, 8mg/mL
– Tablet-20mg, 40mg, 80mg
– Children
– Injectable solution- 10mg/mL
– Oral Solution- 10mg/mL, 8mg/mL
– Tablet-20mg, 40mg, 80mg

6. Ditropan

7. What is Ditropan?
– Used to treat certain bladder and urinary conditions. It relaxes the muscles in the
bladder to help decrease problems of urgency and frequent urination.

8. What are the side effects of Ditropan?
– Dry mouth
– Dry eyes, blurred vision
– Mild constipation
– Diarrhea
– Nausea, mild stomach pain or upset
– Dizziness, drowsiness, weakness
– Headache
– Sleep problems

9. How long does it take for Ditropan to take effect?
– Ditropan usually takes the first two weeks of treatment
– Take six to eight weeks to experience the full benefit of Ditropan

10. Cipro

11. What is Cipro?
– An antibiotic used to treat a number of bacterial infections. This includes bone
and joint infections, intra abdominal infections, certain type of infectious
diarrhea, respiratory tract infections, skin infections, typhoid fever, and urinary
tract infections.

12. What are the side effects of Cipro?
– severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats
– sudden pain, snapping or popping sound, bruising, swelling, tenderness, stiffness, or loss of
movement in any of your joints
– diarrhea that is watery or bloody
– abdominal pain
– nausea/vomiting
– blurred vision
– nervousness
– anxiety
– agitation
– sleep problems (insomnia or nightmares)
– rash

13. How often can you take Cipro?
– Uncomplicated gonorrhea infection: 250 mg, single dose.
– Uncomplicated urinary tract infection: 250 mg every 12 hours for three days.
– Bacterial diarrhea: 500 mg every 12 hours for five to seven days.
– Acute sinusitis: 500 mg every 12 hours for 10 days.
