On National Teacher Day, meet the 2024-25 Kenan Fellows
Artist outreachpamphlet
1. Artists contribute 1-2 of their songs to be
featured in the course.
We will interview you over an online video-call
(~15 min). We can accommodate your schedule.
The interview is an opportunity to:
1. Share a bit about yourself and your music
3. If relevant, describe how mindfulness has
played a meaningful role in your life and
career
2. Pass on some helpful advice to today’s
teenagers
Scientific evidence shows that mindfulness training can help address
the distraction, stress, and mental health issues that are rampant
in high schools. We’re working to ensure that every high school
student—regardless of location or resources—can enrich their lives
through evidence-based mindfulness training.

The Final Product
A Few Sample Questions:
1. What was the story or inspiration behind
this song?
2. Do you ever shift your focus intentionally
to improve your experience of a situation?
3. How do you personally deal with the
struggles and stress of life?
4. Is there an element in the song you’d like
students to focus on?
1. Our audio technician will edit the interview down to a 1-2 minute
introduction. We will make sure you come across well, so don’t worry
about saying everything exactly right.
2. We will add the song after the interview to create what we call a
“Music Meditation”
3. We’ll send it to you for feedback before incorporating it into
the course.
