The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) announced its support for Australian bushfire recovery efforts through encouraging donations to the Red Cross from its members and facility managers. IFMA set up a direct link on its website to the Red Cross disaster relief page to help members donate. The Red Cross has been responding to the Australian bushfires since July 2019, deploying close to 2,000 staff and volunteers who have aided over 20 fires and 103 evacuation centers by providing supplies.

On January 8, 2020, IFMA’s national board announced it was supporting bushfire recovery efforts
in Australia through the Red Cross. In partnership with facility management organizations in
Australasia, IFMA is encouraging its members and facility managers to donate to the Red Cross.
To help members donate, IFMA set up a shortcut on its website to the Red Cross disaster relief
and recovery page.

and relief centers. The supplies include water, food, hygiene kits, pet supplies, and satellite phones
to communities facing power issues. The Red Cross has also registered more than 52,000 people
in its Register.Find.Reunite service and is facilitating emergency grants to people whose
residences have been destroyed by fire.
