1. i
2010-2014
330-800kW Single turbine investment fund developer. Savills were taken on to
identify suitable sites, obtain planning consent and support the construction team.
The project achieved 18 consented sites for a range of 330kW and 800kW turbines.
During 2014 In tandem with Savills Directors I have sought to drive the selling off of
sites, worth in excess of £100 million, for the client to companies such as AGR
Renewables who took on the consented and in-planning sites and Temporis who
have acquired the large (>3000 sites) portfolio of prospective sites identified during
the 4 year life of the project.
The project involved managing a portfolio of developing projects across the UK each
with specific electrical quote, easement and planning application requirements. As
such this involved meticulous project planning from initiation and control of data
storage through the use of MS Project and Access to allow all internal and external
project staff to understand their responsibilities and communicate effectively.
There was a significant amount of risk and change management involved throughout
the project. Planning, energisation timescales, changing governmental support were
key risks and constraints to the project portfolio that had to be managed through
close monitoring of the teams progress towards completing key deliverables and
regular meetings with the project board. At times these risks or other factors such as
off specification work, would cause the project to exceed its baselines. Facilitating
change in the projects stages was conducted through drafting and presenting
alternative options to the project board, these were then implemented and
disseminated to the project team.
My role aside from management was to engage stakeholders, including potential
clients, distribution network operators and during planning applications, the local
community. As such I have in depth experience of presenting to public and technical
audiences alike, through onsite public meetings, conference calls using software
such as Skype and Teamviewer to one-to-one meetings.

North West Coast Connection Tender - 2014
Preparation of a tender for Savills to support National Grid’s efforts to establish a
new 400kV pylon and cable line from Lancaster to Carlisle along the Cumbrian
Coastline, for its new nuclear power station at Moorside, Sellafield.
Services offered: provide land referencing, landowner negotiation (inc lease &
wayleaves) , contractor & stakeholder management.
This involved detailed description of the fee structure & schedule, risk analysis &
mitigation, team allocation, timeline (inc Gantt).
2013-2014
One of the UK’s largest energy-from-waste AD developers. Savills were tasked with
identifying highly coveted inner-city brownfield sites that would build on Tamars’
current portfolio.
3. iii
The area of scope included: Manchester, Liverpool (inc Wirral), London, Cardiff,
Birmingham and Gatwick
I was appointed as PM after the projects inception to improve client satisfaction and
adherence to targets, which was more than achieved with the project progressing
for two further stages of identification.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with Savill’s Industrial, Commercial, Mineral & Waste
departments and external agents to find brownfield land that was of a
suitable budget.
- Considerable networking through the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas
Association, provided over 150 potential sites. A further 250 sites were
gained through the formation of a bespoke GIS program that allowed the
identification of developable land.
- Complex nature of sites involved frequent discussion with Tamar planning
and engineering teams via Team Viewer or Skype. Through this method 100
sites were passed by Tamar.
- Usually by individual or conference call I gained signed commitment from
over 25 interested landowners which could translate into over 150MW of
generation.
2013-2014
Site acquisition, landowner negotiation and the planning process for ground mount
solar PV in the range of 2.5-150MW. I managed the identification team, landowner
negotiations and consultation work for the planning application.
Considering the maturity of the industry from an acquisition point of view (both
ground mount solar and renewable as a whole) the process involved considerable
amounts of networking within Savills and through my personal contact network
involving land agents, landowners, HCA, Commons Associations.
