1. Tomcat Hardchrome Engineering specializes in the Repair of Hydraulic Cylinders in
the Mining, Earthmoving and Oil & Gas industry.
Our Services Include:
Hardchrome Plating: We currently have the fastest & most effective Hardchrome
Plating facility in Australia. Tomcat is the only chrome shop to have Air Cooled
Electric Rectifiers which means faster chroming for even faster job returns.
With two operational chrome tanks with depth capabilities of 3.6m, Tomcat also
has the largest chrome tanks per volume in Australia.
Cylindrical Grinding: Our grinding section has six high speed Cylindrical Grinding
machines with lengths starting from 100mm to 6.5 m between centres.
Before jobs are chromed, they must first be prepped by grinding the old chrome off
to ensure a clean deposit.
Once completed the jobs are final ground & polished to size to produce a bright
smooth finish which is perfect for bearings & seal diameters, crankshafts & Hydraulic
cylinder rods.
Machining/Welding: In our Machining/Welding area we have organized it to
Insure that it is as efficient and precise as possible. We have 2 x Lathes which are
3m & 5.5m between centres. 2 x Mills/Bores and 2 x 100 ton presses.
Tomcat has a rotational welding unit as well as an Automated ID Welding unit for
Welding of internal rod eyes.
Hydraulic Cylinder Repair: We Repair and Manufacture all types of Hydraulic &
Pneumatic cylinders. Every cylinder is fully stripped & assessed before quoting and
entered directly onto a computer which means no paper work & faster delivery of
information. With 3 x Stripping Benches we can work on multiple cylinders at any
given time.
We also have a 70,000ft Torqueing Bench for removal & tightening of piston nuts.
All cylinders are repaired to OEM specifications or modified to suit your needs and
applications.
Cylinder Service Exchange: Tomcat has a large stock of service exchange
cylinders. These include cylinders to suit Caterpillar, Komatsu, Elphinstone and
Tamrock. If we don’t have it, we will do everything possible to get it.
We supply you with a fully reconditioned cylinder & exchange it for your damaged
cylinder. Tomcat does not charge a core fee and you only pay for the damage to
your old cylinder (Cost to Repair).
