2. Intentions for filming
After peer and group feedback we are aiming to film more scenes in
order to make the narrative more clear to the audience. Also by filming
additional scenes for the video we will be able to make it more
conventional to the genre as scenes need to be replaced which do not
match the style of the video. In the new footage we will film in places
similar to the first scenes which convey crime and deviance for example
places with graffiti and urban surroundings such as an industrial estate.
We will film more scenes with the artist in the car in run down areas to
further convey the link between wealth and crime which is conventional
of both the hip hop and RnB genres. With the intention of filming more
scenes we are able to cut it out irrelevant clips which are not coherent
with the narrative or conventional to the genre, by planning the shots and
filming before finalizing the video we will be able to produce a
stereotypical music video with more consistency.
3. New Locations
For the first half of the song we are
going to film further scenes in more
run down and less economically
developed places in order to match
the scenes filmed in the tunnel with
graffiti, this conveys the idea that the
genre is associated with deviance.
These areas can be seen as places
where crime is taken place. These
scenes will directly juxtapose the
scenes filmed in the suburban areas
which will allow us to convey how
crime and luxury lifestyle can be
seen in both sides of the genre and
often artists will be stuck in limbo
between the two types of lifestyle. In
this scene it will link to the narrative
as this is where the female
protagonist is seen going behind the
artist back in an area where the
artist is not likely to be anymore.
4. New Locations
This location can signify the
criminal side of the culture as
it is a secluded location which
could represent where various
crimes could take place. For
this scene we intend to cross
cut with the scenes in London
to give the idea that the artist
has both a legal and illegal
lifestyle which are both shown
in the RnB genre, the two
different phones and outfits
will suggest this idea as the
artists has to act differently in
the two situation, also this
location links to the narrative
as this is portrays how the
artist is attempting to get in
contact with the female
regardless of where he is.
5. New Locations
The artist in this location will
be shown during the lyrics
“now I've got money coming in
and I'm looking at the *******
world different” this represents
how the artists outlook of the
world has changed. It
represents the dominance of
the artist as it is can be
perceived as if he is looking
down on the world as he is
getting richer. We have filmed
the artist on a high rise
building in London to reinforce
this message.
