PSINet do Brasil
In 1999 and 2000, one of the 5 biggest Internet backbones (physical and logical infra-structure for com-
munications) in the world, and the biggest Internet solutions company in the world which was neither
owned nor related to a Telecommunications company or group.
Position: Commercial Director.
Reporting to: President of PSINet in Brazil.
Mission:Developingstrategy and Business Plan for the commercial department in Brazil, consolidating
and structuring the teams that arrived with the acquisition of 12 Brazilian providers, switching focusto
big corporations from small businesses, and increasing earnings by 50% in 2000 when compared to the
earnings of the companies acquired in 1999.
Presence in the cities of Brasília, Curitiba, Campinas, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Salvador,
Recife,João Pessoa, Belém, and Feira de Santana. After re-structured, the personnel comprised 103 asso-
ciates (14 of them direct), when considering the creation of new areas that did not exist before. In spite
of a healthy financial condition in Brazil, the Company did not survive to the “Dot-Com Bubble”, closing
its operations in the US.
