“Globalization is defined as a process of extension and
intensification of social relations across world-space, where
the nature of world-space is understood in terms of the
temporal frame or of the social imaginary in which that space is
lived – ecologically, economically, politically and culturally.”

hindering adequate analysis of the phenomenon.
The updated definition focuses on globalization as a process
concerning social relations.
Removes focus on economic globalization alone, and facilitates
relationship with sustainability analysis.
