1. “How do I feel about being appreciated at Accenture?”
Written as an entry for an Accenture blogging contest on the specified topic, and won
Every man, or woman for that matter, has an intrinsic need to be appreciated. It is one of life’s
essential truths – be it on a personal, family, and/or work level. As Voltaire once quoted, appreciation is
a wonderful thing; it makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.
Here at Accenture, more than the plaques/gift certificates/performance points one could get for
a “job well done,” the highest form of appreciation is when others are able to own the triumph of one as
well. It is when one man’s success is not separate from the team/group that he belongs to.
In its endless pursuit of delivering high performance to all its clients, it is fulfilling to know that
Accenture dynamically seeks to recognize the talents and capabilities of its greatest investment: its
people. Accenture provides a colorful and valuable range of opportunities for its people, allowing them
to keep outdoing themselves to be able to reach the pinnacles of their careers.
By continually endeavoring to be always on top of its game tantamount to championing its people
as part of the package through training and empowerment, it not only sets itself apart from others but it
also creates lasting relationships with its workforce and beyond.
It’s extremely rewarding to belong to an organization that epitomizes integrity and excellence,
and one that espouses stewardship at its core - an organization that is serious about taking accountability
for the growth, development, and welfare of its people.
Do I feel valued at Accenture? I’ll take my chances and say I wouldn’t have become a part of this
group, or rather family, and be writing this if I were not, would I? I feel valued enough to know that what
matters to me, matters to Accenture, too. It incessantly finds ways in crafting changes at all levels to
equip everyone with the proper skills necessary to suitably perform their roles and make their journey
with Accenture a pleasing if not a fulfilling one, where direction is clear and pronounced.
And oh, what great appreciation it is when gratitude is expressed not merely by uttering words,
but to truly live by them!
And every day reminds me that Accenture, indeed, is seeking to value its people by earnestly living
out its core values inside out.
