“I am an educator who believes that
the best lesson a teacher can teach a
student is the joy of learning; get
students excited about learning to
the point where they learn when no

grading...Education is not the filling
of a pail, but the lighting of a fire!”

A2Empowerment and Opportunity Africa work with Peace Corps Volunteers in Cameroon to provide education and english teaching. One of our peace corps volunteers shared letters written by her students. These are letters from students your age in Cameroon who are now finishing their high school.
Abbe,
Last year A2Empowerment helped 217 women through scholarships, Abbe was one of them. Abbe is so grateful for the scholarship because without this education she would have already been married to someone without the chance to pursue her dreams.
This is Orelie, she is the first to go to school. She is in elementary school in Cameroon. She is the one smiling in the photo below.
This is Ariane she is in Grade Eleven in Cameroon and will be finishing grade twelve shortly. Bafang is about 4 hours north of the capital of Yaounda. Ariane is working
We are Opportunity Africa and A2Empowerment. Together we work to provide these girls with scholarships so that they may finish their education. In Cameroon Education is not free for high school like it is here. With our help more girls are graduating.
50% - Explain why this is – Parents need them to work at home on the farms and men should be the breadwinners
Not even half will make it to secondary education – Here we can expect almost 100% of students to continue on to high school
Talk about what we do and how we do it.
Education helps girls like Abbe and Ariane follow their dreams.
Every individual should have the opportunity to follow their dreams.
We encourage you take a chance if you have the opportunity and help us make the lives of these girls better.
These are steps you can take to help us and help out Cameroon. Everything you do will benefit someone in Cameroon. The first step is to learn, check out our web pages, follow us on social media
The second step, participate in classroom connections. If we are here to help set that up then we encourage you to make the best of this unique opportunity. If not then talk to your teachers and see if we can come to your school in the furture. Sponsor a student. It costs very little to make sure a student in Cameroon gets the quality education that they deserve.
Lastly, like us on social media and follow our updates, or donate through a monetary gift or your time through volunteering.
