KILTAMANY PRIMARY SCHOOL
iltamany primary school is in samburu county, samburu west
constituency at kiltamany village, in between kalama conservancy
on the eastern side and west gate conservancy at western side,
samburu national reserve at southern side.
These conservancies are known to their beauty and pride;
Kiltamany primary school started in 1996 under the tree with 75 pupils; it
only started with Boys no Girls at all.
Girl child education
A Girl child education is very important to our girls,
We should promote girl child education for our girls around the globe,
Let’sjoinour handstogetherdefeatthisdevil knownas poverty, literacy andtolerance .ourgirlsneed
educationlike aboychild,theyalsorequire parental love.asparentswe have tobe happywhenour
childrensay;
“Thank you mum for giving me birth”,
“Thanks for taking me to school,”
“Thanks for taking care of me”,
We shouldall putthisinour mindsas parentsandput effort, forourchildrentoget education
and growin a goodenvironment. Saynotoearlymarriagesand sacumsision forouryounggirls.
Let’sall joinour handstogetherandhelpourgirlsfromcrying all the time;
“I spent a night in a place that you shouldn’t be in your entire life; am trying to get some sleep but I
couldn’t get even minuteman empty stomach I couldn’t find anything to eat or have shower, I use an
animal skin and chicken feathers as sanitary pads.”

Accordingto me,girlsare not confortable atall inrural areas.Our childrenare notgetting

What shouldwe doas parents?Our childrenare still crying:
“I was to commit suicide because my life has turned to darkness, no one to take care of me, this world
hasturned wild. My dad kicked my mum away, brought in a girlfriend; I have no happiness, so who will
takecare of me? Look at meam crying everyday no oneto sooth me; God will take care of me, but how?
No one to help me understand the scriptures”
Childs Feature
A child feature startsfromthe two parents,every childisita girl echidnaboyor handicapped
childrequiresparental care andlove.
 Looking on some communities a girl child does a lot of work;
 Looking after domestic animals such as; cows, goats, sheep and camels.
 Fetching water; some of them walk for 15km to fetch water.
I call upon all the entire communities to join hands together and help our children.
Since ancient times, the samburu people have been nomads, following their herds as they
searchfor grazinglands.Sadly thisnomadiclife style isnotconducive to the special care needed by the
childrenwith disability.Disabled childrenare seenasburdenandare oftenabandonedand left to die at
birth or in the best case, grow up locked inside and simply neglected.
Women and Men with disabilities can and want to be productive members of society.in both
developedanddevelopingcountries,promotingmore inclusive societiesandemploymentopportunities
for people withdisabilities require improved access to basic education ,vocational training relevant to
labormarketneeds,jobssuitedtotheir skills ,interests and abilities with adaptions as needed . Many
societies are also recognizing the need to dismantle other barriers-making the physical environment
more accessible;providinginformation in a variety of formats, and challenging attitudes and mistaken
assumptions about people with disabilities.
Over the years, there have been unsuccessful attempts in Kenya to determine the stability
statusthroughNational censusandstudiesbycivil societies, none-governmental organizations. Lack of
evidence baseddataonthe Nature andextentof disabilitiesas well as other factors that affect persons
with disabilities (PWDs) in Kenya has therefore posed challenges in terms of planning.
“Wake up samburu people, “here comes BRCK with a very strong message of education.
3
BRCK encouragesthe beneficiariesof the school underitsprogramsfrom “help groups “accordingto the
regions they come from .These groups will be instrumental in furthering the organizations objectives
throughtheirownindependentinitiativesandforumsthat amongotherthingswill seek to their friends
and neighbors with ability and disability messages as well as hold each other accountable on their
progress.
Projected impacts of the BRCK program
 Increase public awareness of persons living without education
 Increase in number of children receiving education
 Less dependency on government and relatives since the beneficiaries will be empowered
economically.
 Provision of eradicating poverty and literacy
 Increase equal opportunities for disabled persons
 Facilities with disabled children will get education, mentally supported to take care of their
children at home.
“I can’tchangethe direction of thewind, but I can adjustmy sails to alwaysreach my destination.”
JimmyDean.
