Client is looking for Senior MYSQL DBA to work onsite at Madison, WI or to telecommute.

1. Responsibilities:
As the Senior Database Administrator,MySQL for client, you will play a significantrole in the design,implementation
and maintenance ofproduction databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications.In
addition,you will monitor daily database activities and overall performance,growth and tuning configurations as well
as the security of the database.
 Participates in the design,implementation,and maintenance ofthe all database environments (i.e.,
development,qualityassurance and testing)
 Monitors database securityby controlling and monitoring user access
 Researches,reviews and develops database designs for new projects
 Creates and maintains database structures and objects
 Assists with the developmentand execution of capacity plans. Monitors and meets established capacity
plan standards
 Monitors the performance and growth and prepares entities,attributes,and relationships for required
transaction and data volumes
 Performs rootcause analysis of infrastructure problems;identifies solutions and makes recommendations;
takes appropriate remedial steps towards resolution
 Performs the allocation ofdisk storage spaces
 Develops and maintains the database configuration documentation
 Executes database backup and recovery strategies
 Participates in implementation and maintenance ofdisaster recovery plans
 Documents problems and actions taken to resolve the problem
 Assists with task automation and process improvements,as directed
 Maintains established service level agreements to meetcustomer expectations and qualitystandards
Qualifications:
Required
 Must be presentlyauthorized to work in the U.S. withouta requirementfor work authorization sponsorship
by our companyfor this position now or in the future
 5+ years MySQL DBA hands on experience in versions 4.X-5.7 (MySQL forks such as MariaDB or Percona
is acceptable)
 Expert MySQL DBA knowledge including upgrades,backup/recovery,patching strategies/capabilities and
day to day supportofapplication developmentpersonnel
 Strong understanding ofMySQL performance tuning (partitioning,striping,OLAP, data warehouses,data
marts and other advanced physical data modeling techniques)
 Strong understanding ofSQL tuning and optimization of query plans
 Proven knowledge and experience in designing database schemas to align with developmentand business
goals and objectives
 Strong and proactive leadership ability
 Strong communication skills with the ability to transcend the organization with appropriate levels of detail
 Strong teamwork,decision-making,documentation and analytical skills

2.  Experience with no-SQL DB (Mongo) preferred
 UNIX scripting skills are preferred
 Experience with MySQL cluster is strongly preferred
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,Computer Information Systems,ManagementInformation Systems,
or related field preferred
