1. Twelve/OC, a new up and coming country band from Portland, Maine, is sure to be the
next biggest band in the country music industry. The band started out in 2019 and is made up of
three brothers, Will, Reid, and Jack Nichols, as well as one of their friends, George.
Reid is the lead singer of the band and plays guitar, Will also plays the guitar, as well as being a
backup singer, Jack plays the guitar as well, and George is on the drums. They started as little
kids playing music around a campfire, singing and dancing. Their Dad taught them to play guitar
and was even in the band in the early stages. Their mom is not musical, but she is currently
involved in the band as a “momager.”What makes them stand out is that not only are they a
country band coming out of Maine, but they are a band that draws in people of all ages and
lifestyles. Most of the time you see a band targeted to a very specific market, but 12/OC draws in
people of all walks of life. Their sound is a fusion of country, folk, and rock. It could be
compared to If Maine met Tennessee and as smooth as whiskey. Their invigorating music is sure
to have everyone dancing and singing along. It could also be described as old-time country rock,
cowboy music, and lighthearted. It can be anything from soft and slow to fast and upbeat. With
there being a variety in their music, it attracts all different audiences.
