Jennifer Trawinski was the site operations leader for outsourcing the assembly and factory acceptance testing of two ultra deep water blow out preventer stacks to a vendor with no prior experience building stacks. This presented main customer concerns about schedule/weather delays, foreign object damage, vendor craftsmanship competency, and availability of GE on-site technical support. To address these concerns, Trawinski developed plans for schedule coordination, weather evacuation, foreign object damage prevention, and provided GE technical experts to oversee the vendor's work and ensure GE quality standards were met. The outsourcing allowed the project to be completed meeting delivery requirements, while expanding supply chain capacity and recovering $40 million in overdue backlog.
