Community Members “Tee Up” to Support Marian Robotics Surgery
Program at 23rd
Annual Golf Tournament
SANTA MARIA, CA – (February 14, 2012) Golf enthusiasts throughout the community are
invited to “tee up” in support of community healthcare on Monday, April 16, 2012 for Marian
Regional Medical Center’s 23rd
Annual Leland “Butch” Simas and Felix Fly, M.D., Memorial
Golf Tournament.
Hosted by Marian Regional Medical Center, the tournament will be held at the Santa Maria
Country Club with co-chairs Dr. Christopher Johnson, M.D., and Rob Buchanan. Proceeds from
the event will benefit the Robotics Surgery Program utilizing the da Vinci Robotics Surgery
System. Intuitive Surgical, the makers of the da Vinci Surgical Robot, will be bringing a model of
the machine that will be featured in the clubhouse during the Victory Reception where attendees
can learn more.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the shotgun tee off for this year’s event will take place at 10 a.m.
The entry fee includes green fee, a cart, lunch, and the Victory Award Reception at 3:30 p.m., as
well as a chance to compete for a variety of prizes including a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab
Truck sponsored by Home Motors.
